I have no idea how its even possible to shoot with one eye closed unless your looknig down a scope :)

I cant see begger all if I close one eye and ther is no depth of field, sounds and feels impossible to me   :)

In shotgunning terms you're only meant to shut your non aiming eye a fraction before you pull the trigger so in theory at least it shouldn't be a huge disadvantage.

i see, so as you say maybe not as bad as it sounds then.

I tried that once but can report that it doesnt work too well.... :)

I have to shoot with my right eye closed.  Each time I try and shoot with both open I miss by a mile!

I have picked up a couple of ideas to try from this thread so thanks all.

If your struggling to shoot with both eyes open, get a coke can or bottle and pop it on a fence post out in the open, mount the gun stare at the can or bottle, squeeze the trigger. If your gun fits you should knock it off the post.  Practise this untill you can knock it off every time even when mounting from gun down and squeeze as the gun hits your shoulder.  When you can shoot stationary targets move on to moving targets.  This was how my dad taught me, you need the confidence of knowing your shot is going where you're looking.

Haddent thought of that! Sounds like it could work, I will report back.
