Hi all,

I am thinking about opening a business concentrated only on those people that haven't tried yet so mainly beginners. Now because I am a beginner myself in choosing the right equipment I would like to ask you guys whats best to buy.

You need to understand that I am aiming more on the people to have fun and enjoying themselves, people that haven't tried this, men, women and possibly children.

Being a beginner I believe that it will have to be a close range shooting, but the main aspect is to cover the all health and safety measurements.

Please bring up any ideas that you have, any suggestions, prices for the equipment and problems that I may have when dealing with these type of business. I haven't opened this topic to advertise products or services and I don't want those people that already have a business to be offended.

Any questions that might help you give a better answer please don't hesitate to ask.

To me the function of a gunshop apart from selling guns is to be able to offer sound advice based on what they know about the sport. I only know of two shops that opened with the owners knowing very little about shotguns, one closed down and the other has a bad reputation but the bottom line is that people look for the experienced owner to give an excellent service, good prices and knowledge.

Not wishing to insult you in any way BUT this is not a good idea if you intend to service the shotgun market. Just my opinion.

Phil, Thank you very much for your quick response.

I am not thinking about opening a shop. Since I have a tourism business, I want to include clay shooting in one of my packages because I think it will be fun for the families to experience such a thing.

Hope now I made myself understood what I am aiming for when asking the question.

Thanks

Ah, I see. That is a very different thing and there are a number of companies who can arrange a shoot for any occasion in any part of the country. If you look up corporate clay shooting on bingle (I used bingle, but other search engines are available, like bing) you find some contacts and of course a number of established shooting grounds around the country would be happy to talk to you.

Phil is right! A lot of grounds cater very well for new and young shots, they will be able to provide all the equipment needed and will also have trained instructors and proper insurance in place. So you will not need to worry about anything other than your mark up on the cost! ;)

Does the OP require this to be on his own premises as an 'included package'? or at any shooting ground?

Eduard - I'm struggling to understand your question - looking at the spelling of your name, you could be French or Belgian - feel free to ask the question in French to see I can understand better.

I think his surname may be Romanian Matt, not that it helps much!

I'm feeling rather left out now! It seems as though you guys have Romanians and I don't, I'm not sure that we can get them down here in deepest, darkest West Dorset! :.:

Phil, I searched on bingle (I used bingle, but other search engines are available, like bing) and it seems that there is somebody who could actually help me with what I need here in Germany.

Thank you very much for your kind response.

Now for the rest of the answers I believe this is an actual meeting point for people who have the same interests, not people who mistake forums for social networks.
