Shot CPSA Reg obviously without it on Thursday last week and had sloppy misses. Went to my local claymate ground on Friday afternoon and found similar targets. I worked on a couple until I was getting first breaks, then better breaks. on viewing the footage on my computer I can see between the missing to begin with, and the hits, and how I improved my hold points and the biggest difference was how incorrectly low my line through the target was. I could clearly see frame by frame the target passing over the shot. So now I have a benchmark of how a higher hold point and line through the target improved my kills.

I agree with what a lot of people say about shotkam. it's not really going to help a beginner. it will tell you where you missed, not why. But for a more experienced C class such as myself that knows the fundamentals, they're really helpful.

and I'm a gadget nerd...

I sold mine after being told off at a registered shoot , did review footage of the stands that I did do and was in front of pretty much everything , so reduced lead and much better now , disappointing can’t use at registered

I’m guessing that as it’s a competition, they don’t want the chance of unfair advantage, with competitors viewing their previous stands during the competition. Couldnt you have just kept it and used it for your training/fun days?

Yes it was a registered comp but to be fair that’s pretty much all I do now , was very impressed with it and was good to view it back , interestingly when watching it I was saying I’m way in front of that before the shot , so operator error lol

For those who have a Shotkam, particular the latest model, how important is it to charge it the night before please?

I don’t mean how important is it to charge it, I’m talking about how important is it to do it the night before shooting.

Will it hold charge if done a day or two in advance?

I charge mine the night before and I can easily get footage of 200-250 shots. I run of of credit on my Claymate card before the battery on my ShotKam runs out!

Have you ever charged it a couple of nights before you go.

I’ll be honest, with my memory, if I have to charge it the night before, there’s a really good chance I’ll wake up on the morning of shooting and realised I’ve forgotten.

If I’m going shooting on a Weds, could I charge it Sunday do you think?

It holds it charge no issues. I get about 3 session out of my gen 4 before I recharge.

I’ll give it a go. I’ve got the gen 4 mini so it’s a smaller battery, but I’m hoping it’s still okay 👍

It'll be fine. Shotkams use loads of juice when playing back video through WiFi. Viewing though pc will save you having to recharge it. If not then you might need to charge between sessions depending how long you spend viewing the footage
