Currently using CFG Passives, and finding they kill to much of the conversational noise, to the point Im removig them to talk.
So, looking into the electrocnic versions.
Im at the Game Fair next, so hoping to talk to suppliers there, but interested to hear others views and opinions on who or what to use.

I recently brought the local CENS guy to our shop/range
Along with a set of Passive I ordered a set of CENS DX3's, really happy with both 👍

I bought some Mercury custom plugs from the game fair . I opted for the passives and then bought my own Peltor electronic modules and it works out a hell of a lot cheaper than getting them from Mercury. The modules come with a charging case that runs off a USB lead so after shooting I take them out and charge them on the drive home ready for next time. They have three levels of sound to choose from and I keep the passive mods in my bag just in case.

Do you have some links I can check please ?

I was talking to an audiologist recently, they said that if you shoot, they would suggest using over ear protection. There are bones in our skulls that transfer the sounds to your eardrum, there is much more protection of these when over ear protection is worn. wear the best you can afford, deafness tends to bring on dementia in old age.

I was told this by an audiologist when I went to get some impressions made to get some in ear type ones made. He strongly advised me to get the best over ear type ones I could and I did just that. Huge thumbs up for MSA Sordin Pro with the gel cups. Sound quality excellent and they are really comfortable. For the first little bit I did on occasion tap the bottom of the right one on the stock. But I learnt to adjust the way I mounted and it hasn’t happened in years since. I have had mine around 7 years. Use every weekend and haven’t (touch wood) had any issues whatsoever.

Respectfully, the relationship between deafness and dementia is not that deafness can tend to bring on dementia, but rather that it can be one of the early symptoms of dementia

I have cfg switch and they are fantastic. Very comfortable. I can hear conversations and the trap releasing no problem

A weakness of made-to-measure ear plugs, active or passive, is that the inner contours of the ears change over time, so the fit and therefore their efficiency are lost.

That’s what I was warned of when I went to get my moulds done 😔 I also shoot with a friend who is having some trouble with his in ear moulded plugs dropping the digital inserts out which is an expensive way to loose a couple of hundred £££ if your not careful
