Governing body? For England maybe, GB, don't think so. They need to become a professional body and promote it as such, maybe split into two divisions, one looks after the interests of the hobby shooter i.e. amateur and one that looks at professionalising the sport. Just an idea of course

I've been a member for around 19 years now 95/96. Nothing has changed for the worse for us Club type shooters  ... Mind you nothings feels to have got better.   oh..I've had  to spend some money on posh glasses.

In fact i was a member ffor a few years when I was a junior in the late 70's early 80's. Still nothings changed except that somebody in america invented a PC and the start of the magazine (which I do actually appreciate).

Stop moaning

You can

see results online

see scores online

see your ranking

get a regular updated list of shoots

get some news on what is going on

find where things are on the website

get a calendar of major events

get a fixtures list that is correct

shoot for a winning international team even if you have a bad day (  !!)

always have your classification verifiable at shoots

Things are done by people paid to do it, not by people who are giving up their free time. So if it does not work you can complain without being told to sod off as they don't have to do it.

You can vote people off as there are others who will step up

You can be a member of just one organisation as wherever you go the shoot will recognise your membership and validate your classification => ONE fee.

You don't know you are living....

I forgot

You don't get officials of the CPSA sending you emails telling you not to criticise them on public forums when they have screwed up...

Then ignore the original complaint

Exactly what I was saying. Just about the same as in 1996.. with very small bells & whistles added ( county rankings and running averages??) for those who love data analysis.Online scored and classifications were available back then ( I still have some print outs). so was a Magazine (I still have some

And a chuffing big class directory :)

Do they still have the private car reg?

Things that the C.P.S.A. do well ????????????    Nope I am struggling with this one,   er...... how about taking extortionate amounts of money for their Courses and expecting those who pass, to go forth and encourage more folk to become Members ?

Agree with Phil

also they seem to run some very good major trap events and run a very good website were all the results and classifications are correlated within days of the event. Magazine is rubbish but so are all the others but this matters not as anything anyone needs to know can be found on this forum.

I think they do as good a job as anyone could given the stigma associated with shooting in this country and the lack of interest from everyone not involved directly with the sport.

Richard's diary.

Not as often as it was....but maybe he has been put on other things....

New one just out.

chanory am i mistaken? I just don't get Pull magazine.
You won't get scores shot outside Scotland recorded either... The CPSA has a team of full time staff administrators, the SCTA is mostly voluntary, sometimes scores/classifications can take a little longer to come online, but they always get there and the discipline reps do a hell of a lot of unrewaded work in there own time, much less members, much smaller recourse base...insurance is the same.

Agree with James on this one. As far as I can see, given the resources available the VOLUNTEERS of the SCTA do as good a job as can reasonably be expected.

SCTA doesn't have the membership/funds or the full time staff that is available to the CPSA.
