Right I have had enough of all the sh*t you post ray! you asked a simple question on the Facebook site but can't deal with the answers?

The head swelling comment if it is regarded about me then that's fine,

I know in a decent ref, a lot of people you know will tell you I'm a decent ref :)

You can say head swelling all you like but I know I'm one of the best refs in the country, ( skeet that is)

If you would like to follow this post up, then by all means we can actually be men about this and sit down and talk, instead of you bitching all over Facebook/ ahoot clay forum?

Think you need to read the post's properly Ryan, instead of what you think I might be implying, what sh*t you talking about, it was about a topic

that's important for the future of skeet & close to all our hearts, there was never any malice intended.

The complaint about Junior ref's was not or never aimed at you, as well you know, stop looking for an argument where there is not one !

There is no bitching as you call it - If changes are afoot in the skeet ref / shoot rules, don't you think were entitled to our opinions ?

Let's all calm down and have a decent discussion........ :hi:

Acoustic release was used at Doveridge for the 2009 World Championship , seemed to work ok but the ref's for that day would be the best people to comment.

I shot the EO ESK at Doveridge in 2009 with Ryan and others, the acoustic release was fine with the OU shooters but for us auto users the target was released when the breech was closed following the loading of the first shell.  I didn't see any sign of them this year when I shot the pool shoot on the skeet ranges at the EO ESP at Doveridge.

Lets just keep the discussion civil and on topic please!

Cheers,

Jon.

People ask why I don't shoot skeet anymore, in future I shall just direct them to the skeet forum.

I was a bit annoyed that it had been taken off facebook too - I didn't think it was off topic and I personally took some time and effort to respond to it. I was going to copy and paste some of the content onto here (in the interest of a full debate).

It then got deleted, and to be fair to Ryan, it was not until he posted on it so no wonder he has reacted. I think the comment about head swelling was always going to get a negative reaction.

Alan - the skeet crowd are still a good crack and there is still a nice atmosphere to be found at the majority of shoots. If I was a shooter I would happily shoot skeet and bring new people in to the discipline :)

At the  World shoot at Doveridge in 2009(i think )  the Canterbury acoustic release was first used it worked ok to start off with ,but as rain came in, the following day the guy from Canterbury ( not the place ) had his work cut out as  damp seemed to affect their working correctly also when it was windy some people calling pull could not be picked up by the system (even me and im not the softest of spoken people) As has been said the wand system (once probs ironed out) would be a better system. Julia why cant this system be used on a multi discipline layout surely it just a question of the correct wiring , as its no different than pushing a button to activate the release of a target !!

Ryan no probs with your reffing at all .

Julia would'nt take any notice of Alflan .....ask him how Frank is !!

It would be nice to have proper Skeet refs at all registered events (still amazes me how many grounds who think a ref is a ref ) but i think this would cause an increase in costs (they're working so they need paying ) then shooters would moan about that !!

Also all these people saying we should have  proper refs , i wonder how many would pay to take the ref course and then want to use their sundays standing most of the day in all sorts of weather to earn a few quid .........form an orderly queue at the steps of the Cpsa !!

I just presumed that we would need an acoustic on each peg. If we are throwing DTL targets on the same layout wouldn't they be in the way?

It is not my area of expertise so have no idea how it all works!!

julesy all you need is one mike last shooter moves it to the next stand simple  also a pair of senders one from the high and one from the lowe  but they are not cheap midwales were the agent

You would do if they were static acoustics but if it was a wand ..the ref would walk from shooter to shooter ........oh yeah not in DTL ..................HMmm needs someone who knows their way around a printed circuit board ........................thats me out then !!

Mind you you have an acoustic on each stand at mo.!

There's a lot of things I can put here but I'm not going too....

The only thing I will say is that a certain someone has ruined skeet shooting since he has been on the scene,

I miss the old days where everyone loved every shoot!!!

I miss the fluffy rabbits people used to be able to have with a certain LEDGE in the game....... (JW, are his initials!!! )

I still know a lot of people who miss the old skeet scene!

I miss the old walker! Who everyone loved!'!!'n

I know this is off the post but I needed to get it of my chest!

At any shoot there are 4 people who if they weren't their we wouldn't be able to shoot,

And that's the refs!!

So a big shout out to all refs out their who have to put up with bitching from shooters!!!

WE ALL LOVE REFEREES! ❤❤❤

This was meant to say,

I miss the fluffy rabbits s people used to be able to have with a certain LEDGE in the game....... (JW, are his initials!!! )

This has been tidied up for now, lets see if it can go a whole day without someone stirring something up can we? Do what you like on Facebook, thats Mark Zuckerbergs problem but keep it off here as it's my problem.

Really not a good advert for skeet shooting guys :(
