Anyway, this has been done by one of the regulars I meet shooting, think it's brilliant myself for a DIY, that last pic is a clay by the way.

Very impressive mate - the work of a true artisan.

Those flames are know in the trade as "True Fire"...not bad at all.

We do it with a basic idea of where the flames will go, then add in tight, neat "licks" with a special set of French Curves and an airbrush. Then it all gets layered up with some specific candies and highlights added.

Quite a bit of work. There are probably 10 layers of paint on that gun...possibly more.

I like the shape of the grip area and overhang.

Did get to have a look a couple of weeks ago Hamster very nice indeed, thats the beauty of the semi auto they are the perfect gun to customise as done more often in the states they are usually much cheaper and make a great second gun.

Actually seriously you see these homemade orthopaedic stocks quite a lot. A guy on my squad at ABT on Sunday had a pillar box red shiny stock. The thumb went through the stock in a special hole and it allowed your elbow to be down (rifle style).

I am familiar with the odd "special hole". The one you are referring to, is called a "Thumb Hole"; as in Thumb Hole Stock

Heh! Yeah, I was just looking for something that would show how good the reflection is, lack of orange peel etc...that was what I managed to find at the time...you can read the small writing on it in the reflection.
