I've been to Makro this morning to buy a case of Pepsi - Has anyone got a 32" glass? I will try it on my barrels

Hahaha Neil see post 13 growl reckons you'll have shiny barrels

Was going to agree with growl but no need as you have proven he was right. An excellent recommendation from Mr growl. Coke cleans pretty much anything.

Don't forget, stomach acid is also quite strong so you always swallow them and pass them in a few days as clean as a whistle.

This might sound a bit radical, but if you cleaned them EVERY time after you shoot, when you do the rest of your gun, you would not have any trouble.

Looking at the pictures here it seems like gun cleaning is a once a year job! Or are you guys shooting thousands of shots a day?

Dreadful!   :fie:

I almost never clean my chokes and certainly not with coke or Clenzoil etc, wipe over and stuff with an oily rag once in a while. The Comp-N-Chokes I came to own by accident do get horrid build up of dirt but even that comes off with a Scotch Brite/oil attack.

Err the comp n chokes were given to me gratis...just needed cleaning and it was an experiment on cleaning techniques recommended methods etc......

Or like hamster says we all have our own ways.

I use spray break cleaner to start with and once clean as new Froglube from Xperttactical.co.uk will keep them and your like new and will stop a carbon build up again, it will also after 3/4/5 applications keep plastic and lead marks from them the insides of your barrels.
