Hi all,

As per title,do i need it? Or to put it another way, what could someone do to me if i accidentally "do them a mischief and have their eye out" while shooting?

At first it didnt even cross my mind, but the way im looking at it now,its kinda like driving without insurance in a sense... injure someone and their gonna sue the ass off ya surely?

Many thanks,

It's a pity that you take seriously injuring someone lightly, but refreshing to learn that you are now at least thinking about insurance and your responsibilities as a shooter.

In the event that you did cause damage or injury you could easily wave bye bye to your shirt and everything else associated with it.

You can join BASC, the membership includes insurance cover.

The cost can be spread over 10 months @ £7 per month.

Is it really worth the risk for the price of two pints a month?

So does NGO,CA, SACS etc the vast majority of claims in the uk are for property damage (cars hit by quarry on its way down is common) injury claims do happen but thankfully are rare! Shooting is very safe and liability insurance very cheap joining the cpsa BASC CA etc should be about more than insurance if you just want insurance get that for £20! CCC on eBay!

The simple answer is if you shoot at professional shooting grounds insurance is not required ,as you will be covered by the grounds insurance .How ever it's a good idea to have your own as well if you only shoot clays go with the CPSA other wise look around and bingle shooting insurance countryside cover used to be cheap and good it's run by an ex CPSA official
