A really nice Officer visited me tonight and as far as I know all signed off for the SGC but the back office process could take up to 3 months before I receive the SGC,

Progress but still slightly frustrating waiting for the paperwork.

Ah I'm still waiting for my visit, hope it's soon but I am placing a deposit on a gun at Avalon guns so the one I want is ready to pick up when it does!

Kent out of Maidstone.  Very nice man, made me feel at ease and took time explaining some of the licencing requirements to me. Offered him a drink but he said I was the 3rd visit in a row in my immediate area.  Sounds like this is a popular sport!

Only asked as there has been quite a few similar issues posted on here and elsewhere. It's just helpful to know how different people are getting on with different forces.

My recent experience in the West Midlands, was brilliant. Sounds similar to what you said, really nice bloke, very helpful. But, my Cert was hand delivered to me at home, within 10 days of my application. And no I'm not in the Masons

Also, I struggle to understand why it should take 3 months to sign a peice of paper. Having said that, I know at least 3 people personally, who have waited in excess of 6 months. Only 1 of the 3 have been visited. They all live in what is now the combined (Firearms Section) Warwickshire/West Mercia area. Poor show!

I'd be interested to hear what these "licencing requirements" are though........

Allport, Im Greater Manchester too. They had my licence posted to me within a couple of weeks.

Hi, I am come under Maidstone (Hollingbourne) I got my visit on the 10th, he told me 6 to 8 weeks, but they have just appointed a new administrator so could be quicker. I am really hoping it come through before the shooting show in Feb.
