Wow - was exhausted last night, too tired to look at a PC.

A fun weekend all-in-all - as people have pointed out, Saturday was a stiff shoot - made all the more tricky by some very unpredictable wind and rain showers.  I once again showed I cannot shoot in the wind... dropping plenty, especially when lots of leeed needed.  Finished on a lowly 50, but that was only made better by the fact a lot of good FITASC shooters were well off their averages. Nothing to complain about the layouts - 2 on the Windrush site, with 1 back at Westfield and 1 at a remote location up the road from Windrush (the rockiest field EVER!) - Steve really tested people with the tower birds on the Westfield layout (peg 3), and the 60? yard crow with a rabbit clay was something to aim at (hit it in the single, missed in the doubles) - and my only personal complaint was the job lot of green clays - for a colour blind shooter, those are hard to pick up on a lush grass background (Westfield Peg 4 was one example and the remote field Peg 3 G/A bird)

Sunday was better for me - a calmer day all round, all the layouts on the familiar bits of Westfield - Valley was typically hard (I never like the curve of the land there and struggle reading lines, Top Field was good stuff, including a monster left to right tower bird that only a couple on our squad found (not me) and a nice little dingly dell peg at the top in the hedgerow (love that pink bird through the fence).   Wood layout had some nice variety, driven birds on Peg 1 and a new platform (well new to me) with some tough rabbits (one with loads of spring, one with a limp and asthma), the final peg was all over the water of the little pond - nice bright pink birds in the woods and the only Peg 4 I straighted all weekend.  Barn was another good layout, although we were all feeling tired round there... Peg 3 did for me, with a pair of tricky crossers across a sloping backdrop.

I finished day one on 12, 13, 10, 15 = 50 - awful, and no excuses I was not up to the challenge - so much to learn!   Day Two felt better - 14, 17, 22 (Wood), 16 = 69 to make 119 for the weekend... well under what I was hoping for - but a great weekend.

Organisation was pretty good, with a  big marquee on Saturday at Windrush - and the Westfield clubhouse always marvellous.  My squad was great fun - with some people I hadn't met before - we ended up bonding in the blitz spirit of the wind and rain on Saturday - and that carried us through the bitter end on Sunday.

Nice work to Ed on the GB place (engines fired up), and good to see Gav B, Darkside and few others from ShootClay around the place.

Wow , what a weekend 216 shooters thanks to all that came , we had 12 different countries represented which is brilliant , good to meet people off here dark side you looked totally she'll shocked on Saturday night hope you had a good trip home

Onto targets sat shot a lot harder than I wanted which wasn't helped by the British weather the wind was about the same on Friday when we vetted all hoops but what we didn't have was the strong gusts , at one point when filling traps at Westfield stood under the cherry picker it was moving 2 to 3 foot either way so the cossers on peg 3 signature was like having a Dtl trap up there , a very good 90 was shot sat by John lee

Sunday thankfully a much calmer day and Westfield shot as I was hoping , quite funny really opposite comments to sat " have you gone soft , it's too easy " we're being thrown around

All in all I wanted two days about par with each other but sat proved trickier than Sunday

Allison and myself feel shell shocked and knackered now , was it all worth it ???? Probably I think so , someone else's turn next year looking forward to shooting it already !!!!!!

Steve and Allison

Thoroughly enjoyed it despite Windrush being very tough. What fantastic shooting to score 90 on that course by John Lee.
I shot a 66 on Windrush and 76 on Westfield = 142
My reaction on finishing, "What a great weekend of shooting!"

I was absolutely knackered on Saturday!!! Had two pints with my fish&chips, sat on the bed at 8pm to phone home and woke up at 3am with 18 missed calls & 32 texts....phoned my wife back and fell asleep talking to her, woken by her phoning back at 8am so the boys could wish me a happy fathers day!!!

Enjoyed the shooting, twice as much once I'd 'sorted' my stock and started hitting clays again...

Run home was a doddle, 330miles home in 4 1/2 hours, boys just in bed but not asleep...so got to see them on farthers day :)

824 miles on the clock , next time I think it would be better not to go via sporting targets!!!

Well I knew it was going to be tough but blimey that was tough.

Pleasure meeting up with everyone over the two days. Thanks to fellow squad members.

Great variety of targets. Felt completely beat up after day one not helped by being stranded at westfield for an hour with three other squads after the shoot. Day two was a little easier although still could not afford to drop any on the first two hoops. I need to shoot westfield more in the future if want to improve. Had to dash to get home for fathers day dinner. Not sure what I scored as I avoided any chance to look. Let's just say I would be very surprised if I broke fifty percent both days.

Well done steve and ally for organising a mammoth event. Needless to say I hope the bus firm is off your christmas card list

I enjoyed it. I would have loved to have shot it.

FITASC is far more enjoyable the sporting. Meeting up with old friends rather than everyone whizzing around and nafffing off to another shoot.

Amen to that Ben - super social, met some new friend in my squad - and lovely to see regulars and new faces there.

Nice to say hello Ben. Looking forward to seeing the vids

Absolutely matt. The variety and social side is what draws me back to the discipline. It helps to have people talk you down from the ledge after the shoot ;)

Mart _ long story but bus the only option

If your working wednesday I will catch up then

And you Gav. Video should be up tomorrow. I've literally been editing it all day, still on it now

I know GB ranking points are up on the BICTSF web page but not sure about results on their own mate.

We are just formatting them now and will post soon interesting I wanted Allison to work out average scores of each ground per day per class and Westfield on Sunday average was a few percent per class over Cpsa cut off and windrush was about 6 to 7 percent under Cpsa cut off , so take into account the wind gusts and not wind speed and you'll probably find it wasn't far off being about right !!!!!

I think one big problem is going into Europe and shooting big scores ain't a lot of good to anyone who wants to compete over here

I had a guy from Belgium come up and introduce himself to say he's been onto his governing body to come over and see how we do it because it's dying over there with boredom

Will that happen here ????

I for one will not change what I am doing , very encouraging at weekend and this week with people saying good old fashionable fitasc what a relief !!!!!!

Great job Steve, one of the few blokes who won't get your arm twisted into setting miss and out layouts. I'd happily pay to shoot it again- windrush I'd pay more!
