I think I have done this before (but a, I cant remember the replies and b, I cant find it)

I am getting disillusioned with my pilla panther mainly due to the comfort and weight and also the constant decision re lens colour so I want a pair of trap shooting glasses that match the following criteria, I am expecting Ed to reply but any suggestions from members

Lightweight and comfortable

Not a dominant bridge piece

Not interchangeable lens

Very very light tint (nearly clear) suitable for orange clays

OMG.....I am orf.........

for some popcorn....!!

and a tin hat.....to be loaned out a reasonable prices.....

OK mate, I was going to see Ed, but he is a long way from me. Anyway Garry2749 went to see Simon Goldsmith in Bristol and got a good deal on Zeiss prescription glasses, I ended up doing the same. Not sure how you would take to the bridge on them, it is adjustable and cannot be seen once they are on. I used them once so far and results with purple (fixed) lenses was very good. Cheaper than Pilla too!!!!

This might help......8 pages.....so would save a bit of page time this time.....

'&do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>>

cannot remember if it got into a fracarse or went off track....

Nope its in trap cos that's were I put it, and it belongs there because my post specifically states Trap glasses. Don't argue mrs tinker just answer the question ;)

Sent the link mate, they are about £200 ish as far as I remember.

ps the purple lenses bring out the orange but dull down the green background. Gaz and I both reckon they are good, he was using Pilla's before getting the Zeiss ones.

What about a colour for orange against the wishy washy greyish sky?

Arm at werk!

Yes, the Zeiss frames are good for the money but they can be a little weighty and they do have a fairly visible brow piece and bridge. The frames last for years though!

Its worth noting that the lenses aren't Zeiss however.

Winner do a frame which is similar called the Colt, it retails at around £90 ish without lenses - the lenses are much nearer together and it sits nice and high.

Hi-Scorers and Decot HyWyds are all good "Trap" specs which will come in at under £200 including non-prescription lenses.

Back to work!

Think I might just move it somewhere for the hell of it. It'll be like a treasure hunt.

Ok

i have some very light weight frames of unknown make with close together nearly touching yellow lens.

My bro bought them for me in 86 when started shooting so they have sentimental value. There are a few scratches on the lens and i think there not glass but seem opticaly good.

The question is can they be polished up by a optician person and or could i have lens made for these frames, as i say there very good very light and comfy with very thin wrap around your lug hole arm things ?

Edit

found a make on them they are

kassnar alpha 7

Well they seem to bring out orange against any background from what I can tell so far Phil. When I used them the other week we had a mix of weather and they worked well.

I think Kassnar used to be distributed by the forerunner of GMK.
