Just changed guns my old one was a 15 inch the new one is a 14 3/4 new gun a lot heavier so balance is different gold e to a dt10 . Also the wood on the dt10 is p--p. So I would like my new gun fitted and possible new wood used or fitted,

I would appreciate sensible advice around the north wilts area please

Cheers Danny

I don't know what p-p means but for fitting I'd suggest Nigel Teague. If you want new woodwork made from scratch Midland Gun Services have a very good name.

Just out of interest, I have seen DT10 stocks selling on fleaBay.

I have visited Mr Teague for my gun fit , very nice gentleman,  he's going to alter stock end and 1/2 inch of cast to improve the fit as i was aiming left and low .

That's service I saw Mr Teague on Friday, he contacted me today Monday,  gun ready. Wow that's fast , will collect on Tuesday test fire on Wednesday can't wait to give it a go .

Hi,  when you had the gun fit with Nigel Teague what was the actual process ? Pattern Plate ? Laser ? . I picked up one of his business cards last week from the  Teague Chokes workshop * when I dropped a gun off .  I’m going to need a Sporting Pad fitting as well rather than the curved Miroku trap pad . Although he’s a long way from my home if I decided to drive down and pick the gun up from the choke place it could be a do-able.

* what a smashing facility and nice people . Josh was a great host as the “ front of house  man “. We had a look around the Workshop , having spent my working life in various production/operations roles , it was nice  to see a British company with a mix of investment in modern production equipment and still retaining the skills to hand finish .

You've got to love the Joshi.

Hi Martynb, Nigel workshop is near Wootton under edge not malmesbury, Don't let that put you off its not far .phone Nigel he will sort you out, Gun mount and laser in my case targeting low and left with new gun (didnt realise) explains some targets i missed a lot. He can pattern plate you if  required. I had a new pad shaped to my profile and a 1/2 inch of cast to the stock  , I now look straight down the barrels . I can't wait to give it a go on Wednesday at Barbury

Cheers Danny

Was yours "in the rack" this morning? (Tuesday 28th November) saw Nigel 8am for a fitting,  so in today and the gun is due back Friday am, bit more cast and a slight raise, I will then be straight on M5 & up to Coleys. echo the endorsement of Nigels work, he fitted my MK38 (which I still have & will be using Wednesday) to me last summer and after a butt pad tweak a very noticeable difference.

Hi Rich,  yes I think so .collected mine late afternoon.  Took it out today at Barbury definet improvement . Very happy.

I had a little trip down to the Cotswolds this week. On the afternoon of day one I collected the MK38 from Teague Precision Chokes in Pinkney Park.  2 chokes up the spout and 5 in a case - pure techno porn ! After an overnight in a nearby pub ,  at 8 am the next morning I was in Nigel Teague’s workshop . After a very informative hour looking at my gunmount he briefed me on the work needed . The  stock will be getting cast, length , and a Kick-Eez .  The height of the “trap “ comb is just perfect for me. Nigel is such a knowledgable chap , a gentleman , and his eye for detail and finish is impressive .

I left knowing more than I knew when I arrived  and with a fundamental flaw in my gun mount corrected . Can’t wait to get the stock back and give the gun an outing !

Congratulations MartynB , time and money well spent .I have improved on my problem shots , still a bit to do but that's down to practice. Can't thank Nigel enough.

The stock and action arrived back from Nigel Teage today . The fit and finish of the pad and spacer is flawless . You certainly can’t feel the transition between wood and plastic as the grinding and polishing are seamless. With the extra length and cast the gun comes up to my shoulder and cheek  beautifully. It’s a good job the local farm shop opens at 6am tomorrow as I can get the festive supplies in early,  and then bugger off up to Kelbrook Lodge to run a few boxes through it.

You are spot on about it being money well spent DannyMac.

Have been out quiet a few  time's since adjustments, scores improved but didn't feel the fit was right . Contacted Nigel he advised a second visit he checked me out and listened to my comments,  more cast and length to the stock . One week later i collected my gun and went straight to Barbury for a round,  instant improvement  happy.  Thank you Nigel looking forward to the future.

Have had a lesson with Mark at Barbury ( half price feb mar excellent  value) realy brought it together for me . Move the gun .  All coming together. Just need the weather to improve
