I did have a quick search but could not find any previous discussions.

A question about insurance, not liability, equipment.

So I am about to full up the gun cabinet with new toys now my SGC has come through. I have not looked at my contents insurance yet, but do they normally cover shotguns? Or any gun for that matter, or do you normally take out specialised insurance for guns, so it covers you if you are out on a shoot etc.

I notice BASC now do this, but thought it was a bit expensive, but I have not looked into much so could be a good deal.

Just wondering what you do?

Thanks

Ours are covered on our home insurance as separate items of note.

Have a look around on the net, there are lots of companies that do it. Mine worked out cheaper to do it off the house insurance for some reason!!!! The firm is called "Assetsure".

I did mine off the house policy as it got to complicated and I thought if I had a gun specific insurance it would make it easier in the event of a claim.who knows!

My guns are specified items 'new for old' on my NFU home contents policy. The cover is first class.
+1

Mine have always been done same as above. NFU great to deal with.

National Smallbore Rifle Association policy includes all types of shooting and also covers £5k worth of equipment which won't be enough for everyone but will suit many.  You can top it up to £10k from memory.
