What's the best way to store guns in a gun safe.

I have three guns and I store each one in a slip and muzzle down.

Is this the best way ?

Keith.

I dont keep mine in the slip. But i do keep mine muzzle down. Just stops any excess oil seeping into the stock..not that it should be over oiled.

I just wondered if there was any advantage / disadvantage in using a slip. would the guns sweat more or would the insulation of a slip keep the gun at a more stable temperature ?

Don't keep it in the slip. If the gun gets wet and you put it in the slip, then put it in the safe...you will have a rusted gun.

Even if you wipe the gun off, before it goes in the slip...still don't do it.

Barrels down is great, for the reason stated above. It also stops oil and crap getting into the action.

Asked my houskeeper how she stores the guns and she replied the gardener will know, ask him when he comes in after walking the dogs.

Clanchief is now buiried in the back garden by his wife, for calling her the housekeeper/gardener........his shotguns got the hacksaw treatment and now get used to rob post offices to fund his wife's new lifestyle, inspired by her reading Fifty Shades of Grey.
