There’s a rule for fitase and a rule for Olympic skeet about gun down which refs should pay attention to , and warn shooters of any flouting of the rule . Other disciplines sporting ect shoot how you want , unless there’s rule against it . It personal preference how you shoot gun up or down , but I think this so called cheat method is an insult to a shooter there's know cheating about it . Isn’t that what the ref is there for to make sure everyone plays by the rules

Easy tiger... The term "cheat mount" is just semantics. I has nothing to do with cheating!

I’m not concerned about what it is , it’s just the word iidon’t think it should be used in that context. You cheating going on enough in this sport . Iv seen it myself but some ground owners don’t do anything about it just let it slide. Is not a work to use lightly
Never heard the phrase Cheat Mount outside the USA.

The term "cheat mount" is utterly common in the 'states. It refers to a gun position, not a flouting of the rulebook.
Perhaps CHEEK MOUNT may be a better way of putting it . Iv shot in the USA and EU lots of times never heard that before perhaps I’m mixing with the wrong person

No offence but you seem quite worked up about what is simply a figure of speech referring to a gun hold which is neither fully gun up nor fully gun down and which is very, very common amongst us hedge monkeys.

Like I said never heard the term and iv been shooting 50 years all around the world. The word cheat in the shooting world doesn’t go down very well with me. So yes I do get a bit worked up . Been in to many arguments about . He hit that , no he didn’t, yes he did even by some of the best shots . Can’t stand it so I do get a bit worked up about that particular word
