But they did have Saab's so can't be all that bad.
Yes, but they do play "football" by using their hands so that really does make them weird. Or are they just trying to be individuals? After all, they have "World Series" competitions of sports that are only played in The USA. (Is that cheating or did they forget to invite us??)  :sarcastic:

And they call rounders (a girls game for the record) baseball, oh and net ball (another girls game) basket ball.

:fie:  you ****** sons of *******! why have you got it in for our "colonial" bretheren? Why they even speak a kind of English?

I guess nobody is going to jump in and explain this to Wonko. Us Brits have so many old Imperial measurements it makes The Ancient greeks look like pre-school mathematicians! When they all migrated to The Americas, they obviously forgot all the variations of weights and measures, along with the ability to spell aluminium and centre correctly!!! (Among others!).    As for U.S. Gallons? What's that all about then??   :fie:

The way Barry Simpson gave the choke measurements to Liz were based on the old (read ancient) measurements of deiation from the measured bore size (whatever that may be). Personally I find this to be a perfectly acceptable and understandable way to equate choke and expected patterns thrown. (Unless you want to be fussy and split hairs for a living!).

Based on 40 thousands of an inch constriction being equivalent to full choke, 20 thou equals half choke etc. etc.

Liz's Baikal therefore, has between improved cylinder and quarter in one barrel (the 7/40th's), and half way between quarter and half in the other (the 15/40th's) making it very suitable for skeet in my humble opinion. Certainly not one for the Fast Trap Disciplines.

One day someone will get me to understand more modern methods of expressing choke constriction, but until then I'm strictly Imperial where Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Quarter, Half, Three Quarters and Full are all you need to know, and anything inbetween is near enough to make no difference.

Of course - I presumed as much.  Not to beat this dead horse too much, but you have to make the measurements, mm or inches, in order to convert it to the x/40 thing.  why bother??  I fully agree that C/IC/Q/etc is as much as anyone really needs.  The Italian star system is the same thing and perfectly functional.  I guess it's no fun if you can't make it more complicated.  Like the Imperial units thing, I mean, WTF were they thinking?  And money denominations?  Ten is really a silly base for money, innit?  Lets use 11.893.  Lots more fun!!!  and then don't even use it all the time!!!!!  And why spelling things like the Frogs is a good idea escapes me too.  Let me guess how you actually say it.

As to the sports, NFL football has always been a righteous bore.  WAY too much standing around.  Even rugby is on the edge of that sometimes but the massive violence makes up for it.  Euro football is finally making its way into the US in a noticeable way I would suppose mostly to the success of the US Womens Olympic team.  And the game itself is way more interesting to watch AFAIC.  As for all those "world's championships" best I know anyone is welcome.  Just pony up a team and get into it.  Canada did.

And talkin' funny.  Youse guys should take a listen to yas

just sayin'

edit - I forgot the smileys.  Stick as many in here as you feel it needs

That would be "you're", and you omitted a comma, but I know what you meant    :preved:

tho I suppose that GB could have moved along to universal terms that are defined in context - very progressive - no doubt an aspect of the "Brazil"-like complex of surveillance cameras that will eventually put one in every home.  Take heart  - the US is struggling to catch up to such a noble task.   :nyam:

just call me Harry

Ah yes i know the van to which you refer to. :)

Charlie yes agree do away with all punctuation :)

Why not take it into your local RFD for him to identify?  Once that has been done he may be able to give you an idea of value.

Beretta should be able to identify the gun by the serial number. Drop them an email and see where you get.

Not sure there are any other routes to ID Berettas.

Browning has a published list of models & serial numbers but I don't think Beretta do.  Unless anyone knows of one??

Out of interest, why the need for a valuation?  if you are looking to sell, take the highest one you've had.  If not just shoot it and enjoy?

Was my grandads gun and not really interested in selling but would like to know more about it and should it be insured

As Phil said drop an email to beretta (not gmk) do a bingle translate first so they don't just bin it.
