start with gun   mount in front of a mirror or with  a laser bore sight that for me was the one most important thing in getting high scores and consistency,look on you tube loads of vids about it,cant reccomend gun mount enough, got to get it right

Gun mount is most important. However putting cartridges in the gun and operating the safety catch at the right moment do help build the scores for some individuals. Sadly makes no difference to me.

Enlighten me then,       WHEN is the right moment to operate the safety catch.  If I was to take my Clay shooting gun from my cabinet now, the safety catch will be OFF  !

If you have an automatic catch, then ideally before you pull the trigger....

The right time to operate a safety on a clay gun is when you buy it just put it in the fire position and leave it there for the next 20 years !
