Hi tim know problem I was only asking because if you was near me we could of traveled up together

Trouble is, do you have to have a team of four for this shoot or can you just turn up and be put with other shooters when you arrive? Matt do you know the score with this type of shoot or what the procedure is?

Tim

Teams of four and singles so it says?

Don't know how it will work for singles.

Hit the link on page one and call Gilly she will help.

Was a great day out.

Four stands of Ten followed by a 100 flush.

Squad (cept me) performed well.

Suspect Flush scoring though. 49/100??

See a few pictures.

Matt had more and a better camera.

Sure was a good day out and we couldn't have wished for better weather. S'funny what you said about the flush scoring Jem 'cos the team I shot with hit 42/100 and thats nearly miss one hit one miss one hit one and I didn't think we let that many get away, but then again you're not looking up when you're re-loading. But I was pleased to get a straight on one stand.

What was the name of your team?

Tim

Where did you finish? We were the 'April Fools' and were second from last when I left at about 3.15. Watching later I felt I should have shot the simmo pair the other way round and made certain of the black clay before trying for the orange one.

Tim

Not sure Tim.

We were the second card in so leading when we left.

I took the Orange first but had five no birds on that stand so was asleep when it came to a pair coming out.

I have some photos on my home PC - will upload to this thread later...

I personally thought it could have been better organised both before and on the day. We heard at least three teams complaining that there were no bacon butties left on arrival, quite a few comments on suspect scoring on the flurry (Only one person button and scoreing).

The major complaint that we heard was the total lack of 'Fibre Wad Only' advertising on literature and website. Many teams turned up with their normal

cartridges to be met with a £6.50 per box extra charge to buy fibre cartridges on the day. Luckily we had both so were OK.

My own personal gripe was being told to 'Mind my own business' by a very posh side by side shooter when I suggested (Very quietly and tactfully) that it

wasn't a good idea to dry mount his shotgun and track the clays, whilst stood behind the cage that his team member was currently shooting in.

Agree Sprocker with all three of those.

We couldn;t get a coffee in the morning - with the hot water having 'broken down', the fibre wad thing was a surprise for me - thankfully Jem0911 had spare fibre, so we swapped some shells (what annoyed me was seeing people shooting plaswad anyway - so I needn't have changed shells at the last minute).

I also agree about the flurry scoring - although I have no reason to believe we shot well, it didn't feel like we missed HALF of the clays going through...

However - it was still a fun morning, and good to meet some new people.

Absolutely, and it hasn't put us off the shoot, we'll be back next year.

One of our team is putting together a polite email to the organisers which hopefully they

will take as constructive criticism, and which may make it a little better next year.

I also looked for 'fibre only' on literature and couldn't find any but assumed it would be, as I thought we would be shooting on estate grounds and they would insist on fibre - I bought 250 White Golds No 8's to go with the RC Prestige No 7's I already had for considerably less than £6.50 a box. If that was deliberate then it was a cheap trick. But it was a good day and the lunch was hot n tasty, and those girls taking the score cards were definitely worth a second look. Talk about "could we see a pair please".

Yes that stand played up for me as well - it had been OK when we were waiting but after it was re stocked it never seemed to work properly, perhaps someone knocked the aerial.

Be good to see some pics Matt when you can get then on here.

Tim
