So which gives the most satisfaction, shooting 96 ex 100 or hitting 80(Assuming you win the class at both events) hard testing targets and learning what large amounts of lead is required on fast long crossers or very high driven?

For me if I don't push myself and feel that just lack of concentration on easy birds cost me the shoot then I'm not happy, I would much prefer to shot at long crossers or very high driven at test myself to the full than have targets you shoot straight at. But then again I don't shoot reg birds so I'm not chasing an average.

The "straw bale" events I shoot at can be just as testing and you can go round again to try and improve
Looking at Hornets results, this shoot was on the easy side for a registered event, but lets not undervalue it. My good day aside, the folk at the top of the scores list have won / stood on the podium at World Championships. C class was well attended, yet nobody broke 75. Even the B class winners, in the 80's were all very experienced shots.

I am not from your neck of the woods, but around here every registered shoot is tougher than any `straw baler` or other similar open event that I have ever done. Your definition of `hard` might just be another persons definition of `average`. It depends on the size of pond you want to swim in.. I can often win small open shoots (I do about three a year) but I dont kid myself that this is where I should be judging myself.

Gav,

That is Hornet website. It is totally wrong because they are using an out of date CPSA classification disc. David B noticed this on the day. The CPSA site shows the real results.

It has been there since yesterday. Try putting your own number in, rather than the ground?

All those `C class winners` on the Hornet website were the `sandbaggers` of a month ago; now up in to A or B. ;)

Ah- Gavin.. You need to click on `scores` , not `results`.
