Going with the theme of a recent post and the DT11's well publicised MonsterOverbored format, I have been thinking about shell manufacturers exploiting this seemingly untapped hole and kind of reverse engineering shells that allow us all to take advantage of this super new way of enjoying even better patterns.
Basically we need 12 gauge loads with plastic wads that are undersize which will effectively convert all our guns into DT11 clones. There is of course a small flaw in that the chokes may be rendered ineffective but this gap could also then neatly be filled by several choke manufacturers producing specially tightened chokes to go with these shells so as to retain the densities we're used to or need.
The extra spacial distance between the barrel and wad could be depicted on adverts as aiding the pellets uninterrupted path leading to less damage, less friction leading to less recoil etc etc.
