Hello to all.
There have been questions posted on other forums relating to shooting form (stance, posture, weight distribution, gun mount) and gun or stock fitting and how it relates to the shooting form a shooter is able to use. A new site for questions relating to these topics has just been opened. The URL is http://www.stockfitting-shootingform.com. (stockfitting dash shootingform dot com)
I am retired. When my vision went south about twelve years ago, which prevented my shooting clay targets, I began writing. "Stock Fitting Secrets" was followed by "Stock Fitter's Bible" and "Stock Fitter's Bible (Second Edition)." Writing isn't nearly as enjoyable as shooting but it is the next best thing.
The books are my one claim to fame. They have been read by shooters in 18 countries. I was never a very good shooter, probably due to my lack of eye/hand coordination and for many years, my ignorance about how a gun's stock dimensions affected the shooting form I was able to use.
Anyway, I hope to be able to answer your questions about stock/gun fitting and shooting from an American perspective.
I also attached a "POI Calculator." It is a Microsoft Excel program that automatically does the math for determining the distance the comb needs to be moved to move the center of the pattern a chosen distance using both English and metric measurements.
