Hello to all.

There have been questions posted on other forums relating to shooting form (stance, posture, weight distribution, gun mount) and gun or stock fitting and how it relates to the shooting form a shooter is able to use. A new site for questions relating to these topics has just been opened. The URL is http://www.stockfitting-shootingform.com. (stockfitting dash shootingform dot com)

I am retired. When my vision went south about twelve years ago, which prevented my shooting clay targets, I began writing. "Stock Fitting Secrets" was followed by "Stock Fitter's Bible" and "Stock Fitter's Bible (Second Edition)." Writing isn't nearly as enjoyable as shooting but it is the next best thing.

The books are my one claim to fame. They have been read by shooters in 18 countries. I was never a very good shooter, probably due to my lack of eye/hand coordination and for many years, my ignorance about how a gun's stock dimensions affected the shooting form I was able to use.

Anyway, I hope to be able to answer your questions about stock/gun fitting and shooting from an American perspective.

I also attached a "POI Calculator." It is a Microsoft Excel program that automatically does the math for determining the distance the comb needs to be moved to move the center of the pattern a chosen distance using both English and metric measurements.

Would you be one of our American cousins.......who rides your horse right into the bar.....tramples the little ol waitress Dolly with the big bristols.. and then lets it sh*t on the poker table, whilst asking for a cream soda from the bartender????? By any chance.....
HAHAHAHAHA  that's really cool!

I'm gonna hope that it isn't my fault cuz I have posted links to this site on other, as in US, boards.  I promise not to do it again.

Rollin - you're wasting your time here.  These people don't believe in any of that gun fitting crap.

just sayin'  ................

Actually Rollin Oswald is kind of a big deal stateside. Welcome to the forum.
I have to admit that I'd never heard of him until I noticed the posts on other boards he was making on his own behalf.  Not to say that what he is putting out is bogus because I've not bothered to read any of it.  I have no idea of his credential and this is not intended to be dismissive or demeaning.

But, seriously, Rollin, these people live in a gun fitting fantasy land and they will just make fun of you

I have one of his books, stock fitters bible, brilliant read and very informative, welcome to the forum, a word of caution, expect to receive thousands of messages about gun fit!

And with all of that WE still beat them at Sporting and Fitasc, think how good we could be  :nyam:

I have to admit that in my ignorance I thought the original post was a wind up - apologies.   This was caused by the words POI Calculator being included in the post.   You live and learn.

Forgive him father for he knows not what he has done... (or should I say started)

I am itching to continue with a POI question just to get the ball rollin (see what I did there) but I fear the length of the post would finish me off.

I bet you have a whole list full of POI questions Ian!!   :spiteful:   :haha:

Prolly won't take long for Rollin to get his own list going too - about this site.  #1 will likely be, "why do I bother?"

And you can't make any realistic decisions about POI until you've gotten past POA so you better get Ian's list on that first   :hunter:

may have to wait on Ian to take care of that itchy ball first tho

Rollin, I don't want to say I told you so, but there it is.   :pilot:
