Just waiting for my first certificate license to come through and thinking about things that might be worth looking into now.

should I consider any insurance for liability etc? Plan only to do clay shooting at proper places etc.

any advise welcomed.

thanks.

I always think insurance is worthwhile.  Join BASC or CPSA and you’ll benefit from their insurance included in membership.

Does both include insurance? Which is better to go with?

thanks.

Ones own opinion is Yes you should be insured / take out insurance irrespective if it’s game or clay shooting that floats your boat.

Both do, and both have lots of info on their respective websites, take a peek and weigh up which you think will suit you best. Do bear in mind that there are in region of 20,000 CPSA members of which only around 5,000 shoot competition, the others purchase with insurance in mind / as a benefit

Thanks, I read Basc has dropped the insurance element so CPSA it is.

thank you all for advice.

? On the home page of BASC is a section “Why you should join BASC” one of the reasons highlighted in bold text being Insurance Cover. BASC claims to have many more members than CPSA most of whom buy membership for the insurance.

As others mention if you are interested mainly in clays then CPSA membership is most probably better suited for you long term

Ok, yeah your right I miss read it as a  generalisation that they had dropped the lot.

I have joined the CPSA 👍🏻
