A few things would bother me with these guns I'm afraid! Yes they are cheap for hand made guns but they are still a lot of money. The weight of the guns seems to be 7lb which I would feel was at least 1lb too light for a clay gun. The company has no track record in making clay bashing guns,so would they take the sort of punishment that a clay gun has to take? For a lot less money you could get a gun with a known track record and have a custom stock made for it. Yes they are lovely guns to be sure, but I doubt if I would part with such money for a gun that is basically an unknown quantity. Sorry but there it is.

Well.............ive been to the factory of Jim & Elaine quiet a few times, it was in the next village to where i lived at Tarleton during my time at Worsley. They are passionate about their product, their customer & their future so will listern to anyone who any concerns regarding the longivety of the guns for clay shooting.

They have a great product & its great to see them have a niche in the market for a hand made gun :nyam:   :nyam:  .

They will make the gun to your spec including weight, regarding the longevity there's a good chance they would stand up to hard clay use because the chap was an engineer long before he decide he could make a better gun than most.

I absolutely would spend up to £20k on one of them than £12 on a K80 or £10 on a Perazzi.

There off the shelf game guns are 12k and very nice too , same as eell half the price of an SO5 makes you think dont it ?

A friend of mine bought a new Teagued 28" Beretta Gallery gun a few years ago for £50k   , got £13k for a Perazzi in px (should think so too) but as glamorous as it was he didn't shoot it particularly well. He now shoots a 32" high end DT10, looks stunning and he shoots better with it as well.

£13-£20k is not really silly money when you look at what else you can burn your money on, what you can't deny is that these guns look the part too.

Absolutely hammy, spend 30k or whatever on a car thats not worth a bean in ten years, 30k on a gun and in ten years you probably get your money back and possibly more. To use an americanism its a no brainer.

Ps I take it the dt you refer to is a eell ?

Didnt holland or boss or similar maker do a trap gun a couple of years ago ?

or am I dreaming / hoping it happened ?

Various English makers keep having a stab at the mortals market but in my view they keep getting it wrong. Either the thing costs a mere £70K instead of well over a hundred :fool:  or they buy blanks from Italy and think we should be grateful for them assembling them here and only pay 3-4 times what the near clone would cost (Rizzini / Perugini / Salvinelli etc).

My eyes glaze over as soon as I read that's what they're up to, if they don't want to devalue the main brand then just pull a Lexus; everyone knows it's a Toyota but at least they have separate factories etc.

Yes I'm sure it's not just the De luxe version.
as far as I know there is only the std dt then the el then the eell the latter beingbthe only side plate one as the el is std but with engraving. So easy to tell which one he has.

didnt know thats what went on as I am not that up on english guns but if thats true and I do not doubt you then as you say its a big premium for a italian gun assembled in england.

I meant L as in Lux which can itself have either Game or Scroll engraving I believe, his must be the EELL side plate.

Argh yes you are right now I come to think about it the L did indeed have game or scroll option whereas the eell is only scroll (I think) whatever it is its a good un and as I have said many times before the eell is a totally different beast to the std DT I will stick my neck out and say that its probably as good a competition gun as your ever going to get for any money, I wanted a SO5 but when it came down to it apart from 10k difference I was of the opinion that the eell would be a better tool long term and arguably nicer looking as the SO is somewhat bland compared to the 4 and 3 variants, just my opinion of course.

I was not aware that they would make a gun to any weight, I thought the website only said 7lb. Oh well we live and learn as they say and is nice that at least someone in the UK is willing to take a stab at a gun which is not the price of a house!

I recall commenting on the weight on their Facebook page and was pleased to be told it's a non issue.

Beretta do a EELL in scroll or game scene in the sporting version and very nice they are to. Had one for a while bought it new at £7,800 unfortunately I had a bruised cheek every time I used it. Sold it for £8,500 after 12 months or so, one of the ( very few ) I've made a profit on. Lovely guns though
