Your brain will take a while to realise there's no need to flinch anymore, so I recon don't expect immediate results, it will work in time I'm sure mate.

I had my first shot (in 35 years) with an air rifle at the game fair last year. My first shot missed the target by 6" to the left, due to my shoulder pushing forward to counter the recoil that wasn't there. Hopefully the change coming up wont be quite as severe!

Sorry if I came across teaching you to suck eggs above Csc3 .

Many say don't spend to much time using a pattern plate, but after a month I decided to try one just to see if the shot was going where I aimed, high and left was what I remember, but after having loads lobbed off the stock as well as the reducer fitted I need to see if there was a change in poi, and once I shot half a dozen the snatching was consciously controlled and the shot was nice and central, albeit a little high now, but after a chat with Ed it should be ok.

Fitting should be no more than £50 - £70, mine cost more because the adj comb had to have a steel plate ground to fit.

It's £95 with MJ I think. Includes fitting the green pad to the device. It must be a few hours work..

mine was 100, but make the most of his good work, he was talking about his wife asking him to retire.

Oops, looks like I forgot to allow for the fact mine was done in the previous decade. :D

Just got home with my Isis fitted by MJ. Looks a very neat job. Can't wait to give it a go..

Might get along to AC Sporting targets on Friday..

Has anyone had an after market comb raiser installed by Malcolm?

This is the second time in the last few days that I've seen his name mentioned for stock work.

I'm just trying to get a feel for the quality of his work and what other people may have paid for the same work? Photos would be great if possible.

I would be amazed if he didn't do a great job, having had some work done and chatted to him. He is in the 'forgotten more than most will know' camp. Very experienced and knowledgeable.

My Zoli was done by him on recommendation by Tim Greenwood who said he believed he was better than anyone else he knew at this job. There are photo's somewhere on the forum but you may need to do a little search. :)
