Hi

I bought a 32 inch miroku yesterday but I'm now wondering what model it is as it doesn't actually say on the gun.

It's fixed choke, schnabel forend, fixed trigger, has a dark/ black top lever. The serial number doesn't have any letters but I can make out what looks like 8NP in the bottom of the receiver.

Thanks in advance.

Hi does it not have a serial number underneath the top lever ? which would help date it more accurately

but going on the information you have with the 8NP it could possibly be year of manufacture 1998 as they have a two digit code starting Z = 1

Y = 2

X = 3

W = 4

V = 5

T = 6

R = 7

P = 8

N = 9

M = 0

Schnabel forend points to a sporter,fixed trigger to 6000/7000 or MK60/70 but a photo would be a big help to identity.

Early 3800 trap gun probably.
+1
you're looking at the proof mark BNP. The gun does look like an early 1980s 3800 trap.

The date letter should be two letters starting with P eg PT in the middle of the serial number. XxxxPTxx

Have you got a picture of the top strap with the lever held open?

That is BNP stamped in the action floor and I believe its to do with the proof not the year, all guns carry that stamp. I would also go with early 3800 or could be 800 series miroku just prior to the 3800's.

No,proof marks are applied to actions and barrels.There is a date code in the proof marks also,but that is only post import here.

Looks like a Grade 1 3800 to me...

I'd thought it would have the beaver forend if it was the trap version, although I'm sure it could of been changed or possibly come without from factory

The 800 has the rounded type reciever

Some of them don't have any letters on the serial number on the receiver, I've seen couple which don't

I'll follow this thread with interest, as I would like to know how to date them

Hope that helps,

James

3750 perhaps?????????????????

I always thought that 3800 was stamped underneath the action where it says B C Miroku. I could however be wrong on this count.

Know what you mean about the forend.I know of one other 32" sporter style,all the rest were 30" back in the 80`s,so never knew if the 32" was a bitsa or swapped parts. Non of it matters really,they are damn good guns from that era !

I've taken a few more pics. The rib is 3/8ths. No screws in trigger guard. Oh yeah thanks for replies so far.http://www.shootclayforum.com/uploads/monthly_02_2015/post-67-142315520718.jpghttp://www.shootclayforum.com/uploads/monthly_02_2015/post-67-142315522258.jpghttp://www.shootclayforum.com/uploads/monthly_02_2015/post-67-14231552439.jpg
