that will do it Les, that's about as different as I want my shooting.

Thing is Robert, surely were to place your forehand on your forend is just another thing to mess with your head, I always hold my forend in the same place and it has never effected my shooting.
Ah hahahahaha that will go over some heads feuuuwwww...!

It all depends on how long your arm is and your stock length ....just saying..!

Not all people can hold the far end of the forend.

I have always held close to the action.
Indeed as do i,  :)

I'd say Its more a case of whats comfortable.

So, you get used to this sliding forehand technic on fast-slow combinations, then you turn up at a shoot where the course setter likes to catch out all the sliders with slow-fast combinations...would it not be better to master controlling gun speed(s) with your forehand locked into the one most comfortable possition?
As I said, I use it where feasible but there are many times when you don't get a chance and can get a similar effect with hold point and selecting pull away/maintained/swing thru where appropriate depending on the situation.

And les- all yours are going away so no need to worry!

I was expecting the fore end rubing jokes to COME sooner in the thread but yet again i was to premature with that.

I thought that after reading the article with digweed talking about this method myself and others would like to know when and how to use it if at all.The great thing about shooting sporting is trying to figure out how to shoot the targets presented on every stand and the more your knowledge is tested the more intresting the shoot is.Personally i have come to realise that after years of shooting is that when you get to go against the top boys there is not much room for errors and one style wont be enough for all targets,so i am having a go at all the styles with open mind over winter just to see if i can add a little to my scores.

Thanks ed some great replies

Paul watch BBC2 now until 9p.m. and you will see who invented 'your' method. Funnily enough same build as George Digweed.

So to really confuse things - fore end in palm of hand or resting on your fingers?

index finger pointing down barrels thumb just touching barrel and other fingers gently cupping beaver..tail
