need reccomendation for a new pair of decent wellies for coming season and for everyday pooch walking activity. Don't want hoggs last pair fell to bits after three months don't want le chams last pair heel came away at six months. Don't mind paying good money BUT considering the le chams were £200 + and didn't last I am reluctant to spend much more than £150 in case they don't last either.

The hubbies Le Chameaux were split in under a year.  Got some Aigle ones now (leather lined) and they are going strong after 18 months, no sign of any problems with them.

bebo

any idea what model, and approx price. Are they worn daily. ??

Grubb Stalker are neoprene, warm, and mine have lasted about 3 years now. Cost is in the £80/£90 range.

Did they not replace them?  Tony's had a fault (several years ago) and they sent him a new pair without taking the old pair back - this was after several years of wear.  Maybe their policy has changed.

Don't think we even bothered trying to change them.

I lost my reciept ?

Tony didn't have to produce anything he merely contacted them.  As I said though this was a good few years ago and he sent a picture of the fault to them which by the way was to do with a zip so he still wears the old ones as well as the new ones.

The OH's ones started cracking across the toes and then at the ankle where the boots flex.  Still kept water out for a few months after this became obvious, but eventually started leaking at those points.  He still wore them for a while when it was dry enough, but I think he may have finally dumped them.

There's a Co on Ebay who do the Aigle Parcours iso 2 for £132 delivered - he also does Castellani gear, I've bought a couple of items for them & they've been great. I need some new wellies for the forthcoming season & they will be the Aigle's  ;)

Get yer bum over to Sephton's garage in Rufford, he had the Aigle for the best price (excluding mail order) but you really need to try them on, the sizes are so variable.

When you get them, storage of them is of some importance too. I have a pair of Le Chammiewhatsit's that are 20 years old and although the heels are worn down a bit, they are still very usable and watertight. My Aigles are newer at only 10 years old.

How posh, two pairs of fancy wellies and neither of them full of holes. ;-)
