New Gun ? Caesar Guerini summit impact

Hi all, would love to hear some opinions/info before I finally decide on my new gun :hunter:

Just sold my beloved Beretta 687 EL and need to move on.......

I am quite taken on the Caesar Guerini summit impact and wondered if any of you ladies have had a go with one and how did it go ? Quite like the idea of the high rib etc, as need the gun to fit me this time ! Over the next couple of weeks I will be going out and have a shoot with one !

I'm no lady but I really like my Summit Ascent so hope I can comment.
It's not the impact but the way it's changed my shooting is great.
Rachel Willcock shoots her Ascent very well. Straight out of the box no adjustments just great Muller chokes.

If you're local you're welcome to shoot mine.
I have it fairly short (14 1/2inch lop)

Can inform you that Mrs GG is shooting with a Caesar Guerini Challenger Impact.

Took a couple of months to get fully used to it, but target acquisition now starting to improve. Also, as with all Guerini guns that I have owned and shot, recoil seems appreciably lighter than others.

You always get a lot of gun for the money in my opinion.

I had a Summit impact and traded for an Ascent. Essentially the same gun but with a fixed high rib rather than adjustable. Nothing wrong with the Impact, just always tempted to fiddle with POI.

I love my Guerinis and would recommend one in an instant. Totally agree with the comment earlier about low recoil. So soft to shoot.

Buy one! They rule.

I had summit impact for 18 months. Very different picture I personally would not recommend one as I also had problems with rib falling off and bottom firing pin fell to pieces. Sold the gun on and lost a lot of money

I would try a few alternatives before you make a commitment. These high rib guns don't suit every body.

If you're both free late morning/early afternoon on Saturday why not pop up to Kingsferry and shoot some skeet. If you let me know you're coming I'll put in a couple of other guns that you can give a try if you would like to.

Hi Jayne I suspect this is not the norm, I've had my Summit for 6 years and have never experienced a single issue with mine, during this time I estimate that I have shot circa 24000 rounds through it. Try not to be put off with Karen's misfortune, Guirini offer great guns with good warranty. I have owned and shot brownings and Berettas my Summit has been the best gun I have owned by far.

Try a few different guns , I personally find both miroku and browning great guns reliable and great value for money and they tend to hold there price . But whatever you get get it fitted professionally then you know everything is right from day one.

Every Brand of gun has had issues.

One problem doesn't make a bad gun although its very valid a point made.
Just sorry you had issues Karen.
The current warranty should cover all eventualities.

I really like mine and after having it fitted by Ed and worked on by Malcolm Jenkins it's a dream to shoot.

I have had my impact for 3 years. Great gun but make sure you are psychologically suited to it. For me, too much to fiddle with, trigger, rib, balance, cast, height, chokes ... I think I will probably go back to a FC G5 MK 38 next. Only problem with mine I've had the pin that holds the rib tensioner fall out twice. I've now replaced it with a matchstick and loctite!

It's not that I prefer the Ascent as it feels very very similar to the Impact. It's more the fact that now I have less to fiddle with.

Also the rib on the Ascent is not that high so it is not really something you would necessarily need to adjust to.

As for problems, I had my Impact for 18 months, shot it in all weathers and shot between 6000 and 10000 shells through it without so much as a misfire or a problem at all.

As everyone says, try lots of guns and whatever you end up with get it well fitted. Particularly important as a girl.

Honestly, no one gun is better than another really when you are looking at roughly the same price point. It's what feels best, fits you best and what most importantly gives you confidence.

But Guerinis are better than all other guns! Probably.

Thanks for the advice. Will be booking a lesson with Ed next year and hopefully ask him to assist with gun fit............Good idea :girlwink:

Hi. I've had my maxum impact for 6 months now with no problems. The biggest advantage for me with this gun, is that it prevents me putting my head in the wrong position when mounting the gun (as a beginner I was rolling my face over the comb & looking down the side of the gun). With the high rib & adjustable comb, this can be eliminated. In the gun shop, the rib was taken all the way up & the comb adjusted to give me perfect eye alignment. I have since shot all disciplines with this adjustment. Best wishes.
