I do get some member fatigue on here at times does that count

"Extended warranty... you mean an insurance policy " no i did not, due to the high rate of attrition due to usage they  did so at no charge.

I wasn't arguing the merits of replacing any parts but your statement that there was no guarantee that a new one was less likely to break.

Does anyone else read the long winded pish  jwpzx9r posts and wish he'd stop???

My point is that why would you remove a spring that is not broken to replace it with another that could quite possibly have a fault that nobody could know anything about which is in fact likely to cause a failure. In short for "backside" if something is not broken why are you trying to fix it?  And there is no guarantee that a new belt or spring will not break after fitting you cannot give a product like that a guarantee. ..Well you can in fact but if there is a failure you as a company are leaving yourself open to a huge bill in the case of a valve spring or timing belt.

So, are you trying to claim springs don't wear or weaken???

Do you think it is unwise to replace worn moving parts???

I take it you would not replace worn or pitted firing pins, instead waiting until you are getting misfires???

When you see your cars break pads are worn do you ignore it or change them???

When you see your tyres are worn, do you change them or wait until they blow out on the moterway???

Darkside  you have lost it bud, where have I even suggested any of that ? We are talking about when something should be replaced. I have stated that there are times when replacing something can give you no guarantee whatsoever that the new part you have put in would not break even the very next time you use it springs can have flaws in them. Come on would you take your gun down to the shop and have them rip the hammer springs out and replace them just on the off chance one might break at sometime? This is not about things being worn out in fact if you had read my earlier post you would know that I have actually said that is what is required ... inspection to see if something needs done ... not automatically replacing something because its six years old and fired an unknown number of cartridges and therefore must need something done F sake its a 10k F'n Krieghoff do they really need dosh spent on them after six years for no good reason.

jwpzx9r, it's blatantly obvious you are clueless!!! I'll make it simple for you, answer one question with either "yes" or "no"...

Do springs weaken/degrade/wear over time or do they not?

remember, it's a yes or no answer...so no three paragraphs of drivel as your answer...

Regardless of his age Darkside, ever wondered why YOU get involved in so many such arguments ?

For goodness sake. It's no wonder folks are losing interest in this website.

You're arguing over whether someone you don't know ought to have a gun you've never seen serviced.

If they want to they will, if not, they won't. Let it go, grow up and move on.

Please let us get back to sanity and reality.

Bigmac1,

Having seen your gun , it is my belief that your gun has done very little work, a service is likely to cost you £120+ plus spare parts as required , plus vat.

If for peace of mind that is what you wish to do , by all means do it , it is your gun and your money.

There is a well worn Australian phrase , " If it ain't broke , why fix it?"

I put it down to the fact that you are always swinging on teets , you think we are all tits

Darkside naturally springs do wear and lose the elasticity with use BUT that is not the point I am making, if you would read the previous posts carefully you would know this. As a purely illustrative point what are the most hard worked springs you know of? And how often are they changed or even inspected?

I put it down to the lack of smilies...
Really? I put it down to lack of intelligence full stop.

It was a "yes" or "no" answer...you failed again.

There's a few people on this site that seem very quick to anger and get their balls in a twist over silly disagreements. You would think that someone trusted with the ownership of a gun would would not want to present themselves in an aggressive and argumentative way. Just my opinion though.
