Been shooting for many many years, but took a break due to job move and relocation.

I'm just looking at getting back into it, and searching out clay grounds in my corner of Devon.

Hi Snipey,

I mostly shoot sporting, but like to try other disciplines on occasion, just to make a change.

As an ex 'keeper, I also enjoy walking the land with my spaniel for company.

There are a few sporting grounds,
South west shooting school, Ilfracombe
Ashleigh, near Tiverton

Brookbank, near Cheddar do mainly trap, but do some sporting stands

Probably others I have missed!

Is think there are loads more trap grounds in the south west, certainly registered shoots!

I would be interested to know any recommendations that you may have for clay clubs local(ish) to us.

Ashcombe on the road to Teignmouth from Exeter is OK but the sporting traps never move and the Compaq is always then same so once you have shot it a few times it loses its appeal.

I go down to Cart Ridge just beyond Saltash and they have a good sporting shoot on Sundays and Saturdays depending on the time of year.

I belong to Two Bridges up near Princetown which is a very small club shoot that shoots for 2 hours on Sunday mornings when its not raining.  Its cheap and cheerful but q bit of fun.  I am going tomorrow so you could join me if you like.

Send me a pm if you are interested.  I will leave at about 9:15am to get there for 10am.  Shoot until 12 and then a couple of shandies in the pub then home.
