take out of gun case, wipe with rag, insert into cabinet. When wet as before but wipe with rag before putting in gun case as well. When shooting fibre as before but last pair stick a couple of plas wad shells up it
Spot on Fuz, exactly the same as me

I clean mine if it gets wet, otherwise I smarm a bit of oil all over it once in a blue moon.

If I was using it in the desert or the trenches, I might clean it more often -_-

Gooks in the wire!

I have a mate who 3 years ago shot southern counties Brit open I think. Anyway it was torrential. He actually quit half way round. He then threw his Beretta SO5 (about £17k today?) into his gunslip and left it there for a few weeks. As you may know, these guns are appallingly made anyway, (if you want a reliable beretta it seems the cheaper the better) but this one was now orange and needed a LOT spending on it..

Yes it's all a nice intricate handmade jigsaw puzzle. Don't don't do anything nasty to it like put cartridges in and pull the trigger often. You will soon be left with a rattling wreck..

A friend of mine has a 682 Lux  that's got jewelling on the inside.

I think some knobs store their guns in a pond. They must be a gunsmith's wet dream..... <_<

Pretty, but not well made then?  Tell me more, I would be intrigued to know in all seriousness.

The SO series are known to be lookers more than doers, nothing to do with poor steel or bad workmanship just the basic design is too fussy for volume work.

Exactly. Buy one, shoot 1000 shells and get it serviced. People I know have had all sorts go wrong. Ribs fall off, ejectors go wrong. I was shocked when a big name in the sport first told me they were fragile, it seemed impossible, but I have known a few owners who all have close relationships with their gunsmiths..

Hand made and lovely, but..

I see.  So more designed for a few brace of a weekend, than much else.

I suppose that is the price you pay...along with the...erm, price you pay! :)

Pride of ownership! Its a shame because they are nicely balanced heavy gun, so great for clays in the right spec.

I'll stick wiv me Brownings then eh?

Careful, I'm not slating Berettas. Buy a cheaper one, it will last forever. Two in my cabinet..
Clever, not saying you were mate, when I said Brownings (plural) I didn't mean ad infinitum, I just meant that I had 2 of them at the mo.

I stick with them because I find, at the moment, that Berettas don't fit me as well as Brownings/Mirokes.

Sorry, didn't mean to sound grumpy, should have put a smilie in (can't on iPad Matt..).

The Berettas in my cabinet are my side by side (used once a year at EJC sxs shoot) and my wife's 687 EELL. I am more a Browning fan to be honest, used to have a 525. I do quite like the DT11 feel when I handle one though.
