Are u2 muller chokes the same as halk choke and opinions on muller chokes. Thanks

i use to tight halves top and bottom all the time unless its a close target then they come out and get shot with nothing in there .

interesting point though a skeet choke will break as much as a three quarter one if you can see alot of the clay
Does that not risk damage to the threads?

The Americans call it "shooting threads"

If you are shooting Plastic Wads, or any form of shot-cup...then No, most likely not.

However, it would be less advisable when shooting Fibre and MUCH less advisable if you were shooting the Fibre Steel loads.

It wouldn't be something I did, regardless of the lack of risk.  But it is quicker than screwing a skeet choke in.

I have seen club guns abroad with their threads shot smooth, these only ever shot plastic wads and lead pellets so depends how many you put through them, a few a month seems not to matter but high speed flames and debris will damage them in time.

As far as I'm aware U2's are equivalent to 3/8.

In my o/u I use U2 in the top and U1 in the bottom barrel and very rarely change, just using the barrel selector depending on the target.

In my semi auto I tend to keep the U1 in most of the time but have the U2 handy for anything a bit further out.

Like most aftermarket products, Muller chokes can divide opinion as to wether they offer any advantage or not over the chokes supplied with the gun. Having said that, I'm very happy with mine and see no reason to change.

I can definitely support the case for U2's I use the for every sporting comp I shoot, I have had fantastic kills with them and no distance issues, they are as mentioned above a 3/8 constriction, when practicing I tighten up to full as this gives me more information about where I am actually hitting the clay, I also only use one specific cartridge, this works for me (won't suit everyone) if the clay fails to break I know it's the fool behind the trigger, not the kit that's at fault whatever you decide to do just enjoy it, that at the end of the day is what matters.
