i've just changed the stock on my perazzi. on fitting the new one the top lever doesnt work now... any ideas why and what i should be looking for?

New wood proud of the top strap and fouling top lever? Or rubbish I tie weapon ;-)

It will need some hand fitting which is fairly easy on Perazzis. Apart from the top lever it might also foul on the cocking rods which can lead to expensive repairs to the forend metalwork.

I can recommend a good Perazzi stock man near Cirencester.

Newbie,

Change the stock back to the original one and see if this makes a difference. Or if you haven't got the old stock just take of the stock and see if the top lever moves ok, then look and see what is catching.

Andy

the top lever moves ok but wont lock open and the pin that sticks out within the breech isnt extending...?

Is that with the stock on or off?

Don't know the answer myself but are Perazzi Stocks interchangable between models, as this may be the problem?

sounds like you have probably disturbed the lock up mechanism in some way or its being pinched by the new stock.

if you look at the link below, right to the bottom in the picture its items 134,135,136, 137 pivoting on 128

have you took the stock back off and tried to close the gun? id be suprised if its the stock at fault as they are machine inletted and typically bolt from one to another without issue

if you need help then im near cirencester and have stripped my old mx8 down on several occations
