So the premier league (southern section) kicked off today at EJC, and the (northern section) kicks off on the 1st March at Orston.

With 59.5% of the places taken up in the southern section, and just 39% in the northern section, less than 50% over all, yes there is still time to register before the next shoot as you need to shoot 3 of 4 per section including final, but with such a low sign up, is this competition now living on borrowed time.

Bear in mind anyone can just turn up and shoot any of the shoots as a standard registered shoot anyway.

Probably yes

The shooting calender can be quite busy from March to September with majors, decent opens and championships, county and regional shoots, that people's time is already well spoken for. With a bit of practise and the odd normal registered here and there there just isn't the time to commit to a full Premier league series for myself and pals. In the North its certainly doesn't look to be getting enough take up, they are just spread out too far apart.

I know it been said before but It's embarrassing of the CPSA to call it Northern. When Did Cambridge, Doveridge and Sporting Targets move to the North? Even Orston is pushing it... North Midlands maybe!

Speaking as an expat northerner... Manchester! The north starts theer and nut a yard sooner. Thuz them ore tuther side ut Pennines who'll remain nameless can classify as northern; un fair play tu thum, thum ‘ull meks a decent inuf cartridge un all.

I think its popularity may be waning do to oversubscription in the past, nobody really enjoys taking 4/5 hours to do a 100 bird shoot and waiting so long at stands you almost forgot what you came for.

Churchills was fine on Saturday, around in less than 2 hours.  Even arrived at 5 stands on the trot that had no shooter in them.  Not sure how much the CPSA are worried about it, the scores aren't even added into their system yet, even though they've put a link to the spreadsheet for them.

Who put up the link?

Who put up the link?
Churchill's website the scores were up on the Monday. CPSA had a link to the spreadsheet for the Premier League on Wednesday or Thursday (see the news article on the site). The scores finally showed up on my averages this morning.
