Well, I had a great day!  Met a couple new people, really enjoyed my squad... but shot like a one-armed blind man!  But that's not all!  On the exit from the ground, I hit a pot hole and snapped my anti-roll bar!  Had to wait for recovery, and just got it now from dropping the car off at the garage!  Good end to a good day!

Tony that sounds just like my day! had a puncture on the way home no wheel brace to change the tyre and ruined the tyre too! Luckily a fellow Audi driver let me borrow his so not as bad as it could of been!

Would like to thank you all, for a very enjoyable birthday morning, some good shooting from everyone, weather couldn't of been nicer to us, Look forward to seeing you all around the shoot grounds, and look forward to are next meet up..... Hope all have a good weekend, I've off to pub now............ Regards Lee Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Thank you Lee for the invite today, have a great time celebrating the BIG 40 in the pub  :drinks:   :drinks:   really enjoyed the day, good to meet up with some familiar faces again and also put some new names and faces together, Robert Beard and Chippy(Paul), Well shot   28bore mate  :goodjob:   pleasure to watch how the targets should have been shot, hope your in the money  :money:  I made a pigs ear of the compak which then proceeded to go down hill further and finished on a 63 WITH handicap !!  :banghead:  good course of targets just didnt shoot well enough only consolation was shoot the flush reasonably well.

Well done everyone today it was a pleasure to shoot in your company great day out ....

Sorry to hear of your car troubles Tony & Jason Hope you both get the car fixed asap , Tone hope not to much damage done, that road is a bit rough in places.

Must have been a bad day for driving very heavy traffic for me all the way back, queued to pay the bloody bridge, then in the fast lane doing 10mph through the tunnels at Newport left 28bore at 3.30 arrived home 6.15pm .

evening all.

what more could we ask for lovely weather and great company and set of a 100 targets very well thought out, thanks all of you for the kind words and well dones, you know what they say every now and then blind squirl finds nut.!!!!

its a very tricky course to shoot but i was lucky as the compact was my style of targets and ended on 16/20 many thanks mr digweed..   and the grouse is just my thing see it shoot it..17/20  the rest is keep the head and dig out a score..the tower birds are amazing i did manage a 7/10 and was happy..IMO I really think when the top shots shoot this that 96/98 will be needed to be in final but lets sit back and see..

great day today and great company..

happy b day little brother ..

photos coming soon ..

28bore.

Well what a great day out!  I must get up to Berkshire more often if I can score 88 in a handicap shoot.  We don't have anything where I can score so well at home!

Great to see a lot of you again and to meet Will, Martin, Jason and Paul for the first time.  Great day, great weather, great fun and great company - I must make the effort more often!  I haven't seen so many forum members since last year's Growler!

Glad to hear that you are home safe Tony - I was afraid that they might take forever to collect you.

Very nice to meet everyone today. Even though I did not shoot particularly well 70 plus 9 I really enjoyed the day it was very different to what i'am used to shooting.plus great weather and the traffic was good on the way home,so a great day.And well shot 28 bore I think you will definitely get in the final .

Well done marmite some great photos, really good one of me and teepee You got my email bud send em over thanks

Yes there are some good pics there - I wish I hadn't forgotten my camera!

I'll pm my email to you.

Well shot today! Hope you get your high gun for the week!

Robert Beard, nice to meet you and well shot. That is one tough course if you haven't been shooting long. Hope you enjoyed it and survived the Grouse!

Hi Will,

Likewise!

7/20 on Digweed and 2/20 on Grouse - never seen a grouse butt before or shot at them! The rest ranged from 2 to 8 to give me thirty nine plus handicap of 49 which I thought was pretty generous. Puts me 5th in the RB shooters list with 6 weeks to go. Good fun!

The grouse is a real example of needing to move the gun and see lead. I assume you can only have been behind most of them..

I see that Southern Counties have a grouse butt so perhaps I ought to pay them a visit to find out how to sort them out.  Was this a stand where I should have used fibre to open the shot string out in my tightly choked 3/4 and full trap gun that I was using yesterday?

I also need to get some practice at the really long stuff  as I missed most of those.  The birds I got on George Digweed's stand were the A and E birds which were the closer going  away clays.

The stand with 2 was the simo pair immediately after the grouse butt - struggled to find them!

The 8/10 was the rabbit and going away using fibre

I had 4/10 on the pretty close incomer and going away bird - couldn't find any of the going away birds in spite of using fibre but would have been on full choke for those!

4 teal and one crosser on the next stand gave me five and I smashed the first pair but missed the rest of the crossers and one teal along the way

4/10 on the high Stratstone driven birds

hi will, hoping you can help with this...how do i know that i was top score this week ? i can see on leader board im second with 94 !!!( god i like typing that haha ) but does that mean i won i high gun ? im a bit lost ..thanks will.
