A few years ago, my wife was having issues with recoil and having tried several pads incuding Kickeeze, I bought an ISIS Green X pad, brilliant, problem solved. Looking back, we should have had a one and half hour run to see Ben in sunny Leicester and him sort it or at least check it out. hey ho
I had an ISIS a pad on my old MK38 - nothing wrong with them and Dave is a wonderful gentleman to deal with.

I’ve heard good reports about those, but still looking for a pre owned Gracoil system to help me with recoil and gun fit.

This will in fact have adverse effect. Balance is terrible. The hydraulic ones leak and crack stocks

The stock bounces all over

Just wanted to see what your views are on how to minimise recoil. I'm a fairly slight guy, 5'4". I've been using 28g shell and finding myself with bruises at the end of a shoot. Just wondered whether it's my technique, or 28g is too much? Any tips?
I have used Dave Izzard’s reducers for over20 years and have had them on all my guns..they are magic and worth every penny. Second shot acquisition is for me the biggest benefit.

However did Lord Walshingham bag 1070 grouse in a day ( with 32 gms quad gunning with six and a quarter pound side by sides ) without resorting to recoil reducers ….. perhaps his guns were fitted
Exactly a well fitted gun won’t need anything to make it jump. If the back moves the front moves of the front moves your head moves

The gun is always going to move back with or without a recoil reducer. But if you use a negative drop comb, as we both do, your head stays in the same place!

I found recoil a problem at first, went through from 21,24,28g and can now comfortably shoot 28g. It takes time to get used to the recoil but what helped tremendously was a proper gun fit. Ben fitted my MK38 and i now have very little felt recoil, even with thumpy Black Gold cartridges (I tried a box to prove the fit) . it looks a bit frankenstein at the moment but I will get a Manual Ricardo stock done in the future.

Gun fit does honestly reduce recoil and will give you the freedom to shoot whatever cartridge you please (cost dependant of course). kickeez pad does help but can effect balance, you may need to drill out your stock to rebalance the gun.

I have a 6lbs 3ozs Westley Richards S x S 12 bore, which was fitted by the makers in the mid 70's. Although I have never shot 1000 birds in a day, that gun has seen some work. My usual cartridges are 28 gram 5 or 6 shot, all fibre. However, I have shot some 'tall' birds with 32 grams too. I have never experienced any recoil from the gun, which in typical English style, does not have any recoil pad either. Over the years I have averaged just under 3 for 1 cartridge/kill ratio, which I have been happy with. I put it down solely to gunfit. When I put that gun to my shoulder, I just knew I was going to hit my target. I have never experienced that with any of my other guns, and there have been a few. The one possible exception being my old Beretta 303.
