When I was 21 I could buy four pints of heavy, best to you English boys, for less than a pound.. in Edinburgh city centre !!!  FIFTEEN QUID DRINK ALL YOU CAN ??!!!?? In my day that would have been a death sentence or asking for a refund as you left the hostelry pissed but had drank nowhere near £15 worth
It was never possible to talk when leaving.. all attention focused on walking/crawling to kebab shop...

I remember when I started "supping" in pubs at 17 you could get pushed and buy ten **** for £2 a night. Snakebight followed by JD chaser was popular then we moved on to newky brown with JD chaser. Once had a session in a yates bar on Ozzie white and cider.....only did it once ?
Aha the days if playing catch up if late following a match and the catch up prescription was white lightning and Stella snakebites with double tequila depth charge... usually did the trick..

I don't really recall..... although it was rare for me to be late to a bar!

Dragging the thread back on track, I also accidentally purchased a Boker non locking folder with a pocket clip this morning which seems pretty good..

when I was a kid early seventies I had a sheath knife on my person all the time apart from when at school (which wasn't often) I now have a lock knife with me most of the time apart from around town (which isn't often) cant see the problem of a law abiding citizen carrying a knife. One must differentiate between law abiding bloke and scroat bag scum.
Good luck with that anywhere.  How dare you discriminate!?!?!

Even here in California it is possible to purchase all manner of illegal to carry toys.  I'm not sure if it's illegal to carry a sheathed sword but a sword cane most def is.  And of course switch blades, any self-opener, flick knives, butterfly knives, dirks, etc are all naturally tools only a criminal would have any use for.
