Just picking upon this thread. Myself and another shooter have discussed this at work today.

I don't believe anything has become too challenging with the questions. Jim has his right to opinion ( and knowing him, he should have his say and we should allow that).

Brian & Sue at 4C's are also valued members of our clay shooting community and they do a cracking job. it is their club they make the rules.

We live in a Country where we should allow freedom of speech within reason and give every person their right of reply.

The anti shooting brigade would love to see us all squabbling amongst ourselves.

Admin, you are right to monitor the situation, but control it with caution.

I am new to the site but not to the sport. We all shoot the same piece of round disc at the end of the day, let's debate, but stick together.

Well said.

Well Matt i think we will have to agree to disagree on a few things. Like i said the 4c topic was to close to home for some. So lets change it slightly. Shouldnt all grounds get into the habbit of posting winnings to those not there at the end of the day excluding the locals just deduct some postage. Why would any ground wish to discurage shooters trying other grounds around the country. What are we talking about a couple of envelopes a shoot no big deal. There cant be any real justification for time limits other than profit so lets not kid one another cash if your there in the post if not whats wrong with that [see iam not all bad it bit of blog for the more sensitive out there] ps If you find this tiresome click another topic, so mouses at the ready you know who. :D  :)

Right - so that, I agree with. And look how much more pleasant the post was! I'll run a poll on a new thread for you...

Here : http://www.shootclay...-your-winnings/ a poll to capture everyones thinking. will publish results towards the end of this week.

If I can be of assistance here. When this was discussed at Board level during my time it became apparent that some smaller grounds operate on certain types of bank accounts that only allow a certain number of cheques per month. That is why some cannot post cheques to people who do not collect their winnings on the day.

However postal orders or bank transfers could be possible I assume although I have not asked? Data issues ? Depends how much you want your money.

Safest thing would be to keep it until the winner next arrived and not to put a time limit on it.

Just another thing listeners. It is still suprising in the 21st Century how many people do not have bank accounts to pay cheques into. You may laugh, but it's true. Not everyone is a techno monkey with on-line banking skills either.Cash payout is best and straight to the winners hand, whenever they are available to claim it.
