Well off to shoot a few rounds of OT today. I hope I can do better than my 14 first time out. Just going to try and get into my routine and focus on the clay and hitting it and try to block out any other thoughts. It will not be quite so hot today so that will be a bonus just got to block out the other things that go around in my head when I am out of my comfort zone. Taking my competition grade Mary Arm shells too that will be more for my head than anything else I suspect as I have hit just as many with my training shells at ABT as I have with the comps.

Don't think score....just think one at a time.

Nothing wrong with 14 first time out mate! As for comfort zone, when I first started to shoot it OT, I was told to think of each peg at OT as if it were peg three at ABT, for me it made things more comfortable, because peg three at ABT as you know, means the trap is straight in front of you! Good luck and have fun.

You know Les that is exactly what I did! I however think on reflection held my gun a touch high, I was using a gun hold about two feet above the fosse and just off to the left. This is where I hold for ABT on peg three. I actually felt comfortable with that but I think you and Ian thought that may be a bit high? I do think that I was thinking too much about things other than the clay, I will be trying to correct that today.

Waiting for full report with eager anticipation :)

Just got back from ot practice myself. 22 21 25 20 was lethargic on last one been tired last few days and it caught up with me :(

Seems as though every scheme at SC is racked up to maximum ! Nothing easy.....ever!!! If they were any quicker we would get a sonic boom from each target, I can't go beyond 21 at SC at the moment!!!

I would be pleased with anything with a 2 at the front at sc. Very hard last time i shot there.

If i remember correctly watchman man was as suicidal as me on our last shoot there. I believe ferry crew had to stop him jumping into the Irish sea on way home ... I felt same :)

Bloody good shooting I say, especially the 25!! Still on my 'to do' list in all the fast trap disciplines :-(

Thanks nic

DT

you need to get yourselves down to sealand.

Ian if I had shot 22 21 25 20  at any discipline I would be on cloud nine :) well done! Someone on here said any score starting with a 2 was good shooting currently I am aiming for that It happens quite a lot at my usual shoot but only once today.

Well unfortunately I did not get to shoot OT :( They were doing Parcours on that fosse so I shot some UT which again is new to me. Was quite pleased with the out come 17,17,18 and 20. Was hot again but I did OK. Interestingly I was talking to the president of the club and he showed me the trap houses. I did not know just how much went into a UT trap house let alone the OT which was amazing the amount of work to get the traps set and wired up etc. He told me when the built it some thirty years ago it cost about £50k to fit out the OT stand alone and they built it them selves. I then was approached by the same guy who had spotted I had an XTR and told me he had been looking to buy one I told him he could try mine if he wanted so on the second round he used my gun and I used his... a Perazzi MX8. He shot a good round 23 and was very impressed by the Browning I asked why he wanted a Browning as he had a very good Perazzi and he just gave a typical French shrug of the shoulders :)  was still going on about the XTR when we were leaving said he is definitely going to get one! And to finish my report I still don't know how they manage it a really nice club house really well kept shooting ground with excellent UT and OT as well as sporting costs €3.50 for members and €5 non members per 25 clays !

I will be joining next year so I will be able to shoot every week from Feb through to Sept

Im not sure yet what to do yet , its costing me a minimum of £600 to £700 at least each time I go anywhere and the last one in Scotland at lochness was over a grand , had a great time there though definitely recommend it fantastic scenery, the white clays took a little bit of getting used to though.
