Bit of background for you! Been talking with TSK UK about a adjustable stock for my Mk38. This was due to the fact that they had previously advertised that they stocked a grip suitable for one. Since then the Italy website no longer shows the MK38 Grip as an option, so the latest comms from the UK Rep is that I have to send the action to TSK Italy for them to make and fit a grip to the action. This I have to say has made me a little nervous about proceeding with the order, so my question is:

- What would be the legal issues around sending an action abroad.

Ta

- p.s no Barrels just the action.

My experience recently of sending a stock to the States was a tedious drawn out procedure as soon as you mention gun these days people have a fit.

I do not know what it is like for Italy but would suggest that an RFD that deals internationally would be your best bet as i do not think any UK courier company would accept it from a private individual.

The Royal Mail does state within some of its literature that you can send sporting guns through the post but i do not know of an individual that has tried and you still have customs to deal with.

You would think if TSK were really interested they would be able to source one to use as a pattern in Italy?

schmokinn - totally agree with your last point. Going to do a bit more digging later today, to try and find some more details.  :???:

Having sent actions to Italy, its no problem, but needs to be done correctly.

The mail service will not carry it, I used TNT, but as a casting with no internals, as this made £300+ difference.

The cheapest method, is the firm that all the Italian firms use to ship guns here, they use a firm from Brescia and they come once a week with full loads of firearms, then they tnt them out from Birmingham.

I will go through my paperwork tonight for the name.

Or just have a few days in Italy, fly into Venice or Verona and go to the factory, probably cheaper than shipping, have a shot at Lonato while your there.

All the major stockmakers over there, have Miroku's and Brownings to copy the heading from, last resort is tell them to go borrow one from Tucci Mario..

I would be inclined to ask them, exactly how massive your discount will be for providing them with a donor action, from which they will be able to produce many more miroku grips.

Tell them to source an action.
