I shot a round of skeet this morning, for first time in a year? Missed two clays, one way in front on peg 3 and one over the top on peg 4 sim. I shot 24g 7.5's through half chokes but nothing would have found those two clays. Sheer pilot error.

We dont need to bother about all this noncense in trap ... fixed three quarter and full, shove two bullet things in, point in general direction of orange blurrrrr and pull trigger at some point. Works a treat.
Then sometimes when we open our eyes, there is a blob of orange coloured smoke out there! :.: Simples.............

Note every occurrence of 9.5 shot in this country is european sizing and means English 9s ie 2mm and can be taken to be identical.

Harley, do you have an Optimabore barreled Beretta with Extended chokes?

Well after a 5-6 month break from skeet went and shot a round earlier.. Muller U0 choke and Cheddite Universal Trap 28g 8's, shot 23ex25 the two misses were due to too much lead!

Not my usual setup of Super Steel 9's.. put the pattern in the right place and the clays die!!

Jon.

Good to see your back shooting a proper clay discipline Jon!!

Did Harley buy them from you Skeetuk?

No...he could have...but is easier to get them from Nicky T as I don't see Harley that often. He did like mine when he saw them and likes them better now he has some of his own.

He also liked my ISIS 2 and has one of those now as well.

Well done Sir.

Yeah, those 8's are nice...I have a few and were doing great at sporting.

Got some 9's for skeet if I need them.

Cheers,

I was planning on using Steel but couldn't find any in the boot so Cheddites it was :)

Took a mate to have a go and bought some Express 21g 7.5's for her, she had only ever done a have a go stands but had her smashing L1's and L2's to bits centre pattern and she loved it :) Wasn't ideal as she was using my gun which is fitted to me.. I'm 6' 5" and big built so the LOP is 16" 38" and she is 5' 8" but asked lots of questions and listened just seeing the smiles after smashing clays was great. Called it a day early as I could tell she was getting tired.

Really enjoyed being back on the Skeet :)

Jon.

Skeet - we use black widows ooooop north to deal with skeet, and a bit of road gravel for the ammo. :p

Phil*

Cool...yeah, drop him a message some time, as I say, it would be interesting to know.

I only said GB White Gold Steel as that is what I was told

Right then here we have it from Dave Beardsmore himself. Managed to get a chat with him today in between his busy schedule

A list of what he uses for all his skeet shooting.

Gun Beretta DT 10

Chokes. 1/4 & 1/4

Cartridges Eley. Superbs. 9s in Lead NOT steel.

As for the game bore thing above he would like me to state he has never shot this brand and his 1st sponsorship was and still is with Eley.

He also said if a few people would be interested for next spring / summer I could get a small group together for a few hrs with him shooting skeet at Doveridge.

I will advise of this nearer the time but though it was a great idea to be able to shoot with him and Learn something as well.
