Eriswell lodge has their first reg 100 sporting this Sunday. Will be nice to only travel 15 minutes, hope its a stiff round as my average has jumped up a bit lately after shooting a few soft rounds.
Oh, God! Don't hope that. It's my first since my wrong glasses/lose chokes debacle at the 2014 National Intercounties. I need a confidence boost.

How about we compromise and the 50 for C class can be easy and all the rest really, really hard? :)

Off to Grange Farm and Garlands today.  It's a long way in the winter but if you are greedy like me then there's no choice.  This year I'm going to get to grips with Garlands.

Well I didn't see Bebo today, but I did meet Skeet UK and Sibaldib. Good to see you guys.

Weather was fine for me, almost warm when the sun appeared. I thought this shoot did resemble it's older reputation of being a bit soft. A few good targets just needed the trap pushing out 20 yards to make them worthwhile. As it happens, I tripped up badly on the stand on the corner of the field with the orange edgey battue, only hitting it once! Just couldn't make myself shoot dead at it. Otherwise I would have netted a slightly easy PB.. A pleasant morning if not the biggest test.. It has been trickier there in recent shoots I thought.

Shot Gunsite this morning with Rosso, really busy with I'm guessing over 150 entries.

Thought I shot quite well with 82, there was a bit of a hold-up on the last stand we had to shoot and it was chilly to say the least but another good course put together by Shaune.

Really enjoyed the shoot and the company. Freezing cold and wind. Even big boy ditched the shorts and was frozen. Cocked up two stands big time, one was just so hard, for a very average 76. Waited too long at broken rabbit stand and got frozen solid. So the rabbits were safe well 50% of them. Also got fed up with scorer on this stand calling shooters to shoot (25-30 waiting to shoot) and the shooters not hearing as too far away and making too much noise. Why aren't people more switched on.

you will never get down into A class shooting Horne.

Gunsite was very testing to say the least. The wind made it even more testing. Prob 160 down there long queues..

It was the nearest one today. Good practice for precision shooting at subtle angles, which isn't my strength.. Got lots of Southdown, Weston, Owls due next, to balance things out..

Horne was a biggish entry, probably 150. They had 260 on bank holiday! Most since the 80's I gather.

Very muddy there, but no biting wind like Gunsite, which is endurance in that respect..

We were easy to spot, two very unprofessional looking couples that were missing quite a lot.

I only missed one of the orange battues.  Couldn't get on the green crosser, could barely see it until it was miles past me.  Had been doing OK for me until that stand, with all 6's and 7's.  Mucked stand 9 up and instead of shaking it off, went into meltdown from then on making silly mistakes and rushing stuff.

No, I don't think so.  I was in black jeans, blue fleece jumper and baseball cap that's seen much better days and my sister-in-law was in a mustardy coloured beretta jacket and a grey woolly hat.

Was a bit annoyed with myself today overall.  Was much too complacent and didn't concentrate as much as I should have. On the stand with the orange incomer and midi teal, I stood and watched how wonderfully the first incomer broke instead of getting into position for the teal and ended up chasing through it and missing.  Kicked myself, knuckled down and hit the rest.  Just stupid really.

Horne is a lesson in careful execution of fast edgey stuff. You always feel daft when you miss stuff there, but it's fiddly. That teal there needed perfect hold point, especially being the second target.

I shot Eriswell lodge today and I've realised I have a God given talent for making very easy targets very difficult . I managed to leave 4 simple presentations completely unviolated. Back to the drawing board for me.

Fisrt visit since it reopened and thought it was a nice tidy set up.
