having had a mk38 trap and then getting it teagued i would leave well alone. personally i shot better with it in standard form
Funny you should say that, I know of three Miroku trap guns that did not shoot to the same point of aim after having teague chokes fitted.

I used to have a MK38 3/4 and full and I also intended to have it teagued to match my wifes 3800 with 11, yes 11 chokes ( we bought it that way ). After a little while I realised that I shot better with the heavier choking for sporting than I ever did with lighter chokes so I stayed with it and used a selection of cartridges to offer what was needed on the different stands. I found that some of the fibre wad shells performed really well in that gun.

I would stay with it for a while, try Hull Pro Fibre and Eley VIP Fibre, you could be quite pleased with the result.

I agree I bought a Beretta X trap 3/4 and full, shot great with it at sporting then decided I was at a disadvantage on close birds and had it teague choked. I liked these guns so much that I bought another one identcal spec to the first and left if 3/4 and full which I shoot better with using a combination of shells, 9s for close stuff, Olympic 8's for medium and 7 1/2 Superbs for edge on long targets.

I would leave it for a while and see how you get on. I've recently bought an old Miroku 3800 and that will be staying 3/4 & full.

But each to his own, a big factor in shooting is confidence and whatever you need to give you that.

yes sounds feasible, mine did shoot bottom barrel very high and flat shooting top barrel afterwards (never checked or noticed any difference betwen barrels beforehand) but i just presumed at the time it was because it was a trap gun. ive had 2 other guns teagued in the past and they shot spot on, so i have no reason to believe this should be any different. but i definately got better kills before teagueing on that gun than after and no dicernable improvement in scores.

Leave it alone, and stop looking for excuses.

Most Sporting targets are thrown at a distance that gives the pattern enough time to develop. So if you miss a close one it is probably due to lack of timing, ability, or the lack of application of both.

If you are shooting quite well with 3/4 & Full and you either open the chokes up or multichoke it, what are you going to blame when you miss then?

Yourself?
