It could be the kick up the arse that the UK need to get back into the single market with Europe. If we do that and all upped our defence spending to 3.4% of GDP, Europe will support Ukraine without the US if needed. I still think Putin has something over Trump that he’s using to get him on his side…. The Russkies have been watching him for years, no doubt they have plenty to make him comply with their demands
Trump needs to keep Putin amiable so that he can push the Abraham accords. As far as the US is concerned why should they keep pumping billions into Ukraine knowing that most of Eastern Ukraine is Russian speaking pro-Putin and fought against the Pro-EU government when Yanukovych legged it to Russia. There is no way Ukraine is going to get back its pre 2014 borders because of this.

Google the Budapest Memoranda. The US gave security assurances to Ukraine in exchange for it giving up its nuclear armaments in 1994. It did **** all to back those assurances up in 2014 when Russia invaded them and now Trump is hanging them out to dry completely by suspending all arms aid to them.
US are no longer the leaders of the free world and we shouldn't be relying on them to back up NATO Article 5 if it's needed, despite us helping the US the only time it Article 5 has ever been enacted. Time to reinforce our links to the EU and step up our own defences. UK and EU GDP combined is more than 10 times that of Russia, no reason for us to rely on an unreliable ally.
