Turn up and Shoot ?

Apart from Ashcombe , (obvious one ), where else in Devon and Cornwall can you just rock up and blast some clays ?

Also, is there a list of shoots which seem to just pop up ?

I quite often see signs "clay shoot" when driving the dog out for one our famous Dartmoor or Exmoor walks..

I have joined Two Bridges Clay Shooting Club which is right by the Hotel/Pub.

They shoot for a couple of hours every Sunday morning when it is fine and I find I usually shoot about 50 shells.

Cost is modest with membership at £40 per annum and a green fee of £3 when you shoot.

It is CPSA affiliated and is therefore safe. The club has 2 qualified safety officers.  The membership is small but friendly and some of them are game shooters or beaters

You have to have a shotgun licence and non-members have to shoot 3 times as a guest (£6) before membership is offered.

There is a club at Sidbury, one also at Tavistock apart from the commercial grounds advertised on the CPSA website

I think we have to accept Wez that we are going to have to travel to get our shooting in our neck of the woods. 

There seem to be a lot of places in North Devon but very few down south.

Have you seen the get together the forum is having at Coleys called the Growler.  There are already 4 of us going from Devon

Jesus, that is a lot of info to read through !!

So,can anyone summerise for me.

1. How do I get an official qualifying score (average) ?

2. When is the actual competition.

3. Now sh*tting myself as always fall apart when there is any mention of the word competition!!

Comp is on 16th March 2013 - get to Ian Coleys y about 10am.

There is an expectation that you will use your latest 3 shoots to determin your average on an honesty basis
