104 tops C class !!!!! What the f##k ..... Sandbagger
Ozzy ur right there how the hell can this be right, C class is for shots coming into sport then progressing, how on earth can you shoot couple low scores go in C class then win with AA scores !!! Sorry but that's not just having a good day especially at tough shoots, the CPSA system allows this to happen and they do nothing about this, this is not fair on C class shooters, it happens in A when AA shots come down a class but A class is the stepping stone to the elite class not people coming into the sport, it's taking class prize money of genuine C class, If it was me to be honest I would go birds only as I no I'm not a C class shot until I'm in a class I should be in, the system allows it so good luck chaps & if you don't feel embarrassed then keep going, I read the other guys comet also defending this & the system ? But I believe looking into results this guy won the white gold in B class and many wins yet is still in B class ?? Again the systems there to be ,, ! Why can't the CPSA as a governing body wake up, at golf ur handicaps adjusted pro comp ! With today's internet classes could be adjusted up per month so if you do progress with lessons etc you compete in the right class level !! My views only but in the past seen it many times and it smells rotten !!,

This is only a game, at some point people get better. Remember there did not used to be classes.

Although these sandbaggers who keep winning stuff get on my nerves!

K80 I think my friend you didn't get my point ! It's not about getting better it's about doing a couple Reg shoots to get a below par average then going of at club level lessons etc then competing instead of moving through the ranks and getting better like most do, but to come into C class then shoot AA scores without competing in that class and working up shows the CPSA system is sh@t and promotes baggin & it smells, I'm not a C class shot but if I was I would be really upset and felt cheated !!!! Maybe this is why the CPSA doesn't polish the system up because no one seems to have a issue with abuse of the system !!! C class is a class for new shots who come into the sport then progress through the ranks & get better... This is what happens I'm afraid when there's big pots of gold for class wins & easy pickings ! It's very unfair for the true C class shot, and just seen the same C class shot won the big class money at Barbury ????? I haven't a issue with the individual I'm sure he's nice bloke, I don't like what's been done and allowed to happen it is not good for our sport, years ago top shots would of gave u there two pence worth !!!!

. All been said before Smithers!!! Get on the Cpsa committee and sort it out!!

But how many AA end up in C. Most people I know have never been in C.

I understand your point, there is one guy I know who only shoots PODIMORE and has won c by a margin of 15.

Rightly or wrongly, I look at it, that hopefully some point in the near future I will have to shoot against scores like that week in week out.

Has anyone actually bothered to look at the scores from Barbury before coming to conclusions? In C class 15/19 made scores in the 70s and 80s http://www.barburyshootingschool.com/pdf/Skoda_scores_2014.pdf and sequentially the scores in all classes "align" with each other. Well shot to the winners I say.
The Ladies and Juniors are stripped out so the results aren't really showing a true picture.

But as you say well shot to the winners, hopefully they will soon be in the classes which their abilities deserve

Rules are clear so not a lot of point debating really...I just wish I had been bright enough to work out how to use them to my advantage, I have just spent the last 3 months working at my scores to improve my average by 5% in a desperate attempt to get into B...

If I ever make it to those dizzy heights you lot will be the first to hear about it....and heaven forbid if I ever make it to A...I will be throwing a Shootclay party....!!

Jenny I entirely agree with your comments about the breakdown of classifications, my comment was purely orientated towards the sandbagging question. A high percentage of shots putting in good scores in C class shows that they were not all Sandbaggers.

Felt I could have got a 79 without a few silly misses so I take your point entirely

J, have you worked out your average for issue 47? (From 1.11.13 until now). Bet it looks good. And you will make A before too long!

I have told myself that a huge round of drinks in the pub is on if I go up a class..

Just been playing with my spreadsheet, as it stands Issue 47 my average will be 70.5, so definitely going in the right direction...

Thanks Will, that cheered me up....and I look forward to you buying me that drink....x

well all, mike and myself are off for the next few weekends down in somerset. WE HAVE 200 TON OF SAND TO BAG UP judging by the above comments we are the blokes for the job!!!!!!!!!

Shouldn't this topic be moved to a new thread ..... After all the title above is Westfield Today... Not let's all moan about how the system works....
I want to see a D class come in on ESP that will really sort it out....... Then once D class filled up with these so called game players put a E class in for good measure.......

Some people shoot some clays better than others me personally don't like very close ones ( forget Friday before someone brings it up ) as it takes more concentration with less margin for error , I hear week after week " if I hit the easier ones !!!!!

Well I can tell you there is no such thing as an easy clay , the end .

The Cpsa system as it is at the moment aren't far wrong over the course of a 12 month period

Here's a question , if we as ground operators know people who throw their scores or play the system should Cpsa give us the right to disqualify them from the shoot , or if they play the average game and manufacture it low and one day drop and win money consistently should we refuse to pay them out ???

I personally have never not handed my card in.... how ever I know lost that have.... (May-be I'm to honest)
Steve explain to me so times I see certain shooters once the final scores are out and out the 100 a couple have 25/30 or 15/20 how dose that work? I believe they shot the first 30 and dropped 5 so gave up? Is this correct?..

Ground Owners should have the right to reclassify anyone who is cheating on their average.  The person running the shoot's prerogative.  No question of proof.  Just put it in the rules with no appeal allowed against the decision.  They would soon clear off elsewhere if that happened!

But can't the cpsa already kick them out.

Yes but they are too remote and always after the event unless they penalise cards not handed in by immediate promotion to the class above for at least a year.
