As is the case with all things in life you get what you pay for. With the greatest respect to the op and any new shooters, weather or not a better quality gun will have any bearing on scores at an early stage is IMO doubtful.

My first gun used to give up so often that I doubt I ever managed to fire 100 shells without a failure of some sort, it was awful. It was a Silma Supreme Trap gun.

This is very true.........if I'm going to shoot sh*te....which I often do.....I like to do it with a nice gun!

Well...Skeet UK sent me a link to a 2nd hand Beretta 686 S, from Avalon Guns.....So I've just bought it !, about 5 mins ago, it'll take a couple of days to get to a gun shop near me, I can live with that, cant pick it up till Saturday anyway, just gorra tell her majesty the wife now thats gonna be the hardest part now !

I don't even bother to tell my wife when I get a gun, she doesn't have a clue how many I have, even though I only have two. When I changed one recently I never said a thing, she's just not interested in guns.......and that is how I like it!!!

Not a gun but I know or should say knew someone, RIP, who had a red Honda CBR fancied an R1 so he bought a RED one .....wife never even noticed the difference !..unfortunately that bike was his down fall but it goes to show that women know nowt about bikes! I would be willing to bet most know nowt about shotguns either !
