It's no different to many other sports.

Over the years I have subscribed to photographic magazines, car magazines, shooting magazines etc and they all repeat themselves after a year or so.

If I do subscribe to anything nowadays it is for a maximum of a year then I cancel.

However, as stated above, the internet is such a powerful tool that you can find gun/cartridge reviews in many places and, via forums such as this, actual hands on and long term reports which are actually of more valuable to me.

I just have a browse through my old clay mags from years ago. More info and not so many adverts!!!!!!!!!!! Sad, but i hate to throw good stuff away.

They may save me a fortune in the future?

If only we were 22 again! :)

Huh!!!! If my wife finds any stuff of mine laying around she just bins it! :frown:

In my mums loft I have got boxes and boxes of "Guns Review" dating back to about 1976. Even when I was a kid I was allways into anything to do with guns so bought this mag every month for years. Must dig em out sometime. Used to keep all my pull mags as well but they got left behind in a house move in 97 oops. never bothered keeping em for longer than 6 months since.

I would favour a monthly column about a random clayshooter each month. From the relatively inexperienced to the grafters that shoot 2/3 x 100 reg each Sunday. I feel that there are some excellent shots out there that don't really get fair exposure or credit for the dedication they apply to their sport. They may not as naturally gifted as your Faulds or Digweed but still may have much to offer in terms of advice and opinion.

We could get this from this very forum if we could persuade some of the better shooters to do it. Some of the commercial mags might even pay them for their contributions!

This a really good idea that could be expanded further to provide a both instructional but entertaining format! My Professional Institute has two columns, one written by a fictional Finance Director in a fictional company and his dealings with the Chairman, CEO, sales, production and those under him in his team etc. Similarly there is the Practitioner and his blog of the daily things that he has to deal with in relation to clients, staff, HMRC etc

Robert - watch out for a relaunch of www.shootclay.co.uk in the next few weeks which will enable me to carry a lot more of those sort of features, I've already secured some new authors/writers - and I'll happily take articles from other people...
