A friend asked why do %'s change in cut off's every 6 months. Why not just leave them the same / alone.

Would it not be simpler to have 70% and below = C. 70 - 80 B. 80 - 90 A. 90 and over AA.

I think its to even up the numbers in each class a bit.

Plus if A class went up to 90 I would never win anything.

Some say why have classes at all like the good old days of open and novice .hodnet are doing this method at their Christmas shoot with prizes just for the top 20 scores it will be interesting to see the views .

the percentages are all done off the top 5 percent AAA then worked backwards

the some who say this are mostly AAA or AA  and there are not enough of them to make shoots viable.

Because a round number would be the wrong answer. If you and two friends decide to split £10, you can't have £4 each. Sigh..

Issue 49 is what your classification will be from Tuesday 1st December.  Issue 50 is the one you are working on as you go, for use next June.

but why example 82.3%? Why not just round the number up

what cut off is new period class based on 49 or 50?
number of active shooters n

top 5% add up all their scores , divide by the number of top 5% shooters and you get the cut off  point off for AAA and it all works backward from there.

the cutoffs for issue 50 aren't known until the end of the period since the number of shooters in a period   is part of the calculation.

The classification is actually an indication of your average position within the total number of shooters rather than an indication of your average scoring ability.

It will also be interesting to see the turnout from the rank and file shooters and the number who decide to shoot B/O.

a propper comp that, although juniors is questionable considering how good many of them are.

So no classes but juniors shoot in their own comp because they're too good?   :)

hmm.

Won't be getting my money! ( but you'd already guessed that )
